Having a field so bad it leads to guys getting injured is not a "home field advantage" it's a health hazard and bad management.

Yes, and that only happens to road teams.

Grass fields are fine. Shitty grass fields are an embarrassment. The game should be decided by the players on the field, not by officials, and not by someone slipping on a piece of bermuda that doesn't have a deep enough root structure.
