What's the point of playing the games?

Are you referring to the Red Sox? The 62-38 Red Sox who lead the American League, are 2.5 games behind Philly for the best record in baseball, and have won 7 out of 10 Red Sox?

There's a reason baseball has 3840 regular-season games. It's called "highs and lows". No one wins 'em all. If you get all worked up about one regular-season baseball game, you'll die of high blood pressure by October.

The Royals are 16 games below .500 and tied for the 2nd-worst record in the American League. They won last night. Good for them, really. They could use the morale boost and so could their fanbase. But no one in K.C. is scheduling the victory parade today, and no one in the Red Sox front office is furiously trying to figure out who to fire. Shit happens.

They just ran into a better team this morning. The Royals are very tough to beat in games that span 2 days.

I was referring to the game last night, did you happen to stay up until 2am to watch all of it? No? I did and it was quite pathetic, but thanks for the pep talk dad Ill jot it down on a post-it note and stick it to my monitor so when ever I see an ass stain performance such as last night I will glance to your post and feel all warm and gooey inside.

I have no doubt, its not like last nights (this morning) game is not going to be the iceberg that sank the titanic. Its just in the AL east you need to beat the teams you should. It different when someone pounds the shit out of you or outplays you but that was not the case, the Sox had a TON of chances to put the game away and simply could not do it.
