Casa Bonita. The cliff divers suck and Blackbart's Cave isn't scary.

You know, Omaha has no good BBQ. The only thing that even comes close is a place called "The Ozarks" on Center. Two old ladies run the joint and they have 2 giant smokers that are the size of a pickup out back. They serve some good shit...

I should definitely start a BBQ joint here. I'd be one rich mofo with all the fat-asses around here.

Omaha has tons of fat people and nowhere good to eat. It's the damnedest thing. You'd think that they must have good food everywhere, but maybe they don't have good food because they don't have to. People there will just eat anything.

I'm 100% serious. One time when I went there to visit some friends who went to Creighton Law School and wanted Mexican. They all said that the best Mexican place in town was by the Riverfront. It was called "Dave's" or something. It was just some American guy's first name, and it was easily the worst Mexican food I've ever had.

I like Omaha for the CWS and Henry Doorley, but the nightlife, restaurants, etc. are abysmal.

Omaha is a shit town.

Enough said.

It's okay. Kind of long, though.

I'm refraining from listening until Thanksgiving.

Wheatfield's and Brewburgers... the two local places I go for food in Omaha.

(Fuddruckers is pretty good, too... went there for the first time about a month ago)

That is good to hear. I have been hearing from others as well that the food sucks as well. I still want to take the family to see the cliff divers though just so I can say I have been there.

I would say it depends on the location with Bo Lings. To me they are still one of the best in town.

I personally like Japanese teppenyaki but once again it depends on the location.

Strouds. Almost everything on their menu is flavorless. Never understood why that place was so well liked.

Can't disagree with any of the places people said were overrated. totally agree with RainMan about Panda Express...damn that place is good.

I used to love, love, love, love, love Olive Garden until I grew up and found better choices.

Great thread btw

Titty Meat 02-27-2012 09:33 PM

The Kobari Beef at Panda Express is great.

Interesting. I was watching a show on the Food Network last year and they were highlighting the 2 steak houses in Omaha. They said they were really good but I haven't been back to Omaha lately to try them.
