The veteran trade.
The local hero.
The first overall pick.
EVERYONE WOULD BE HAPPY. PERIOD.
Drafting Geno would immediately rejuvenate every single fan of this franchise. Every person who cares about the Chiefs would have at least one guy they were rooting for to win the job and succeed.
It's quite simply the boldest, strongest, most energizing move you could make for a franchise that has floundered for twenty years. It's the only thing that makes any ****ing sense. Take one offseason, and like Andy Reid said, address the QB position through "trade, free agency, and the draft."
You would have done all three, reclaimed your fan base, injected pure hope and confidence into your team's future, and bought your front office and coaching staff years of development with the players.
It's the only thing to do.
Which is why it won't happen.
Oh, and anyone saying that you don't draft the number one QB and sit him as some kind of arbitrary rule of football can **** right off. You get your QB no matter what, and I don't care if you do it by drafting a left tackle and having HIM play QB. However you get that franchise guy, however you develop him, is the right way.
