It doesn't bother me that he pitches with the game on the line from time to time. You have a limited bullpen and it's just going to have to happen. However, having said that, Ned has too much blind faith in a guy who fails as often as Crow does . I just don't like that he's the go to guy regardless of the fact we have better options out there. Ned is a stubborn guy and it won't change and that is one of the reasons I hope this is his last season.

Here's everyone's chance to congratulate me for calling 0.0 Crow a complete waste of human flesh and an utter piece of feces.

Lets go ahead and add "stupid as shit" to the list for actually throwing a 94 mph fastball right over te plate on a 1-2 count. It takes a special kind of idiot to throw that. Special.

Stupid Royals!

Just keep winning series. Things will work out.

Not if Crow has anything to say about it. 0.0 is just itching to try pumping fastballs at people . Because nobody can hit a fastball from a guy who can't command a single secondary pitch.

Tough game to lose, and we're again seeing why Ned Yost was fired in Milwaukee. Really bad bullpen management last night.

Yost burns Donnie Joseph in the 8th for... no apparent reason. If he wants a lefty to force Smoak to hit RH, no reason Collins can't stay in and pitch to one more batter after a fairly quick and efficient 7th inning.

Then, when you hit the 9th, instead of using Crow - who is not as effective against LH hitters - to face the two most dangerous hitters in their lineup, who both are far more effective against RHP, he can use Joseph instead.

Morales' career OPS is 100 points higher against RHP. So is Seager's.

And Crow... is not one of the Royals best relievers right now. Must stop using him like he is.

Of course, part of the problem is that they left their second-best reliever sitting on the bench. Again.

and now crow has cost us 2 games in a week.

yeah, i know, we could have lost in many many other ways, crow's just really left a bad taste in my mouth.

810 this morning was saying that 9 times this season Crow has come in to pitch in a tie game and given up runs.

Surely Ned knows this, right?

I'm starting to think Glorydayz IS Ned, given the not knowing/caring stats thing. :D

If it was April, you could preach patience.

But since it's not... Yost must start riding the hot hands in the bullpen. That means Smith, Coleman and (chokes on vomit) Hochevar.

Yost has USUALLY used Crow correctly, limiting his appearances against LH hitters (against whom he's pretty bad). That was not the case last night.

Dartgod 09-05-2013 07:36 AM

So I looked it up, and it's only 8 times.

Crow has come in to pitch in a tie game 19 times this season and given up run(s) in 8 of those 19.

You're butchering it bub. The stat is he's entered 9x in tied games and lost the lead. That doesn't mean it was his run he gave up, maybe he gave up an inherited runner.

No I'm not. I'm looking at the score when he entered the game and the score when he left.

8 times.
