I can't speak for anyone else, but I resell my games quite frequently.

You figure a solid gaming machine costs 500 or so. Factor in 3 new games a year ($150), Steam sales a year... $100? Mouse, keyboard, gaming monitor/tv and a nice chair to sit in during those long hours.

I can't hook up my tv in the family room and play with a m/k, it's just too inconvenient.

Plus, you have to wait an eternity for ports to come to pc, if they come at all.

Not to mention sports games:

UFC, Madden (Please god send 2k), MLB The Show, WWE series, Fight Night and who knows when PC will truly get a next gen NBA 2k. It could be a ps3 port for the next several years.

the price for PC games drops much fast than console games

The price for Console games doesn't drop at all unless there is a PC version to force it to drop.

You keep saying this. I have never found it very true. Console exclusives sure, but I have never found console games less expensive even factoring in the resale factor. Steam sale, gamefly, amazon, humble bumble etc. all give amazing deals if you wait a month or two.

GTA V was the first game I paid full price for in years.

Yep ... if you are will to wait a few months you can get PC games at significantly cheaper price.

A PS4 can't run Quickbooks Pro, organize customer files, or keep inventory.

Take that!

I already factored in the steam sale option in the post above.

I have both and the PC is cheaper, it's not even close.

Don't know what else i can say.

If you buy 250 dollars worth of pc games per year that means in 4 years the whole pc gaming rig will have cost 1500, and that's not including the monitor, maintenance to the tower etc..

Console is cheaper.

I have both and console is not cheaper than a PC of similar performance. I resell some games too.

Also, I'm not even sure what "maintenance to the tower" means.

If you buy 250 dollars of console games per year that adds the money to the console then as well, except you will get a lot less games

maintenance to the tower? Monitor?

Same as saying

Maintenance to the console, and TV.

?

The endless debate for console...

When you have to bring up the added expense of a ****ing keyboard and mouse (controller), maintenance to tower (a ****ing $2 dollar can of compressed air/maintenance to console), cost of a monitor (tv), cost of a chair (wtf do you do? stand when you play your console?), the 5 or so ports that wont make it to pc (vs the hundreds that wont make it to console), the benefit of reselling a game for $20 less than you bought new (vs buying a game for $5 on steam sale) you just know that you are hopelessly looking for a reason to justify spending $500 on a pos system that was mediocre in 2010.

Have fun with that shit for the next 8 years, bud.

Meanwhile, in another 2 years or so, I'll spend 1/5 of what you spent on that pos to upgrade my PC, that already shits on the PS4 and XBone, with a shiny new GPU that will extend the life of my computer til the next console release, and it will shit on that console too and it will be 5+ years old.

Calm down. I never said PC was bad, it's just pricey.

It does, but it's A LOT less if you can resell. And if you like playing recently released games on pc you are already at a huge disadvantage.

Nothing pricey about it.

You can only be told so many times, its up to you to believe it.

More power to ya, and your inferior system.

And while your feverishly updating video card drivers and scouring message boards trying to figure out why your game keeps crashing to the desktop, I'm sitting on my couch actually PLAYING GAMES.
