Not sure if that could happen (unless the coaches salary costs the football team).

All I'm asking is if they asked those top high school kids which coaches interest them, or if any coach on their list is somebody they'd consider playing for.

They will just ask how much. I would rather them pay for the football recruits.

Absurd statement.

UTEP went 12-4 in a strong CUSA (that had four 13-3 teams). It did this after Floyd dismissed McKenzie Moore, arguably his best player, before conference season started.

UTEP, like most good D1 teams, would outathlete and out-size even the best DII programs.

The difference in level of athlete and player is quite drastic. Watching those D2 games, the big differences show up in interior play/interior athletes AND on the perimeter, too.

You send Mike Alden to the artisan butcher to get you a steak and he comes back with a ****ing Zagnut from Casey's.

Every. ****ing. Time.

Of course...it always comes full circle.

Marshall>Everyone
Howland>Floyd, Miller, Dixon, Floyd
Floyd>Miles, Mack, Painter, Richard Pitino, Cronin, Tim Fuller, Painter
All of these guys > Kim Anderson

I do not agree.

Miller and Pitino both offer considerably more upside and youth. Hell, Floyd really hasn't outperformed Cronin.

If you want to destroy an NBA franchise he's a great pick, but aside from that, what has he done of note since the Lewinsky scandal other than getting himself Mayo'd?

He was pretty successful at USC ... took them to 3 straight NCAA tournaments for the first time in their school history. Also made a Sweet 16. Did well enough there to be offered the Arizona job, one of the premier jobs in the country. Recruited a lot of talent there.

He also recruited Marcus Fizer to Iowa State and was on track to keep in-state studs Kirk Hinrich and Nick Collison in Iowa (believe they were committed to ISU when Floyd left for his NBA payday).

I put him on the same level as Archie Miller because I think Floyd has a higher "floor." Miller has more upside (though if he's really successful, he's quickly on to the next gig).

You could put Pitino in that range, too, I guess. I'm not quite as high on Pitino as many.

Apparently Marshall's agent is no longer saying that Mizzou has not contacted him about Marshall...but he did not go so far as to say they did, either.

http://tigerboard.com/boards/missour...ssage=11818992

It is from Tigerboard, so take it for what is worth:

Quote:

"Earlier in the week, Marshall’s agent, Myles Solomon, said his client had not been contacted by Missouri. But in a phone interview Tuesday with the Post-Dispatch, Solomon’s tone shifted. Asked about Missouri’s vacancy, Solomon declined to comment on any current job openings, including Missouri’s situation.

“I’m going to stay away from any talk about searches,” Solomon said."
OP over there said it was in a Post-Dispatch article, but no link was provided.

Ceej 04-23-2014 02:37 AM

If they haven't at least contacted coach Marshall then shame on them and the AD should be fired immediately.

Oh, and if true then...ROFL

The last couple games of the title run ucm out coached a superior team and won

Even if you polish that UTEP turd until it is shiny, it is still a turd lol

Div II is what it is but the talent level is not Div I that is for sure. Central still made it to 3 final 4, a bunch of conference and conference tourney titles, along wi a national championship. Mizzou will never do that ROFL
