So does everyone agree that Self had killed it with this years recruiting class? One of his best ever, at least on paper?

Nothing will probably ever top Wiggins, Embiid, Selden, Greene, Sviatoslav, and Mason, but I actually think this is a great class.

The fact that Udoka has to stay two years is huge. As is Udoka.

Svi was in the next class.

I've got Bill's cell phone # by the way. Just because I'm me.

Does he know you trash him on CP for building the most successful program in the country over the last decade+?

Embild didn't do anything special. Wiggins played like shit for 1/2 his time here. Greene has not been all that much here except for brief periods. Svi was a different class. Mason is the only one that has worked out for at least 1 whole season.

I agree that they had talent. My criteria is not just talent but positive impact on the program. I get we need the one and dones to remain competitive as an elite team. But, there is also what they accomplished during their one year. Did we get multiple years out of good players like Mason.

Chalmers and Rush seems to be a better choice to me.

Both statements are false.

In the tournament, Embiid was literally a non-factor. But I remember him being a major rim protector up until he got injured and that's just one of those things that happen. Especially to 7-footers.

Wiggins was disappointing given how much he was obviously capable of.

If only.

When you say a literal non-factor, you're referencing the fact that he didn't actually play in the tournament, right?

Embiid is the most talented prospect that Self has recruited here (and probably will remain so until Self leaves) and was a massive impact player for KU until he got hurt. He actually led the NCAA in Box Plus Minus that year, a list that includes players such as Draymond Green, Anthony Davis, and Karl Anthony Towns over the past few years.

If you're wondering how crazy the NBA salaries are this year, Cole Aldrich just got 3 years $22 million from the Timberwolves.

He's definitely gotten better since he entered the league, but that's still freakin messed up

Massive? Maybe if he didn't get hurt.

I'm not big on elevating players impact on KU based on their potential talent but what they did on the court wearing the KU jersey.

Enormous, substantial, gigantic. His impact that season was all of the above.

I'm a huge Chalmers backer, but Embiid is the best and most talented player Self has ever recruited here and it isn't even close.

Great deal for the TWolves. He's a better player than Biyombo who got 50M more.

It's very debatable if he's more talented than Wiggins, and even more debatable that "it isn't even close"
