There was no wow moment for me either, but I'm not seeing a catastrophe either |

you had this gay "friend" (whose name happened to be as it were, denver chief)... it was hilarious that you actually thought we didn't already know pretty much from the get-go... embracing is way better than hiding who you are... :thumb: |
Welcome to my 2013 feelings about Dorsey, Dj.

Couple of notes here:
-Dadi Nicolas looks like a major steal for a 6th round pick. The guy dominated Ohio State in 2014 with 2 sacks and a lot of pressures. They struggled to stop him and he flashed a whole lot. It's a shame that VT's coach put him inside at DT last season because it set him up to fail. What a terrible move that pushed this guy down the board and lost him money. It's hard to believe that an edge rusher with almost 35 inch long arms, just under 11 inch hands and ascending production from 3.5 TFL/2 sacks (Freshman), to 7 TFL/4 sacks (Sophmore) to 17.5 TFL/8.5 sacks (Jr) would not continue to put up even better numbers playing the same position and be a day 2 pick in this weak OLB class. -Eric Murray looks pretty solid. Watch his tape vs TCU and he effectively shut down both Josh Doctson and Kolby Listenbee. |
I think Dorsey probably felt the same way many of us felt when projected need talent and players associated with our interest came off the board, specifically WJIII and Lynch. I was pretty neutral about the initial trade down. Dorsey got value with the Jones pick (although the 5 year option loss was not ideal). This kid could be a great add to an already solid line rotation. I also believe there was value with the Murray, White and Nicolas picks. These three guys are competitors with a great work ethic.
I though the Ehinger pick was a reach and the Mizzou linemen would have been better options. The Russell pick has a bit of risk with the injury history, but I do get a feeling this kid is motivated, intelligent and hungry to prove himself. One trait of all these DBs is that they can tackle. Not a fan of the Robinson pick. Too much baggage, and receiver was not addressed early enough. We have a cluster**** of #3,4 and 5 receiver types but no real #2. The overall talent and athleticism with this group is promising, but I can't shake this dirty feeling and sense of shame that accompanies the Hill pick. Put it this way: if the brass really wanted to get him for his huge return/special teams impact, then bring him in as a UDFA with a max offer. You can then disguise the character issues as an "opportunity" where he has to earn trust and essentially a roster spot. But spending a 5th on him? Now you have caved to on field allure but yet your organization preaches character and leadership, blah blah blah. Terrible PR move. Part of my allegiance to the franchise is the generally positive reputation it has held. This was damaged today. |
Here’s what NFL.com had to say about the 2016 Chiefs class:
Day 1 grade: A Day 2 grade: A Day 3 grade: A Overall grade: A |
