I think I'll be ok.

ADT security and cameras, multiple gates with 6" spikes on top and two 75 pound dogs.

Silence is golden.

Ok I found mine.

I have to sleep with a fan, or white noise (99.9% fan). Which usually means I take a fan with me when we travel. At home it's a huge, loud, thundering box fan. I CANNOT sleep without white noise.

I thought I was the only one that couldn't sleep without a fan. It started in the 60's growing up in Florida. We didn't have A/C until I was about 16, we had one of those attic fans that sucks air up into the attic. It makes a ton of noise. I've had a fan most of my life, been married 26 years and my wife is hooked also.

About ten years ago we went to Myrtle Beach and stayed at somebody's house and they didn't have a fan, I had to go to Walmart and buy a fan to have while we were there. Now I always take a fan unless we're staying in a motel that I know has one of those A/C units below the front window.

The worse time was when I was in the Army, but then I was either too tired to stay awake or too drunk. When I was in Korea we had the doors and windows open all the time on our quonset hut so I had a mosquito net on my bed. When the weather got cold I was the only one that still had their mosquito net on their bed. I got use to it and couldn't sleep without that net. I think that was my replacement for a fan.

You people are all going to be killed in your sleep. I just know it.

Also, at some point did you have to start lying to your doctor or buying on the black market to feed your habit?

At first, no. It was quite a long journey to get to where I was fully dependent on them. It just kind of happened over the course of several years. One day realized I was on the hook. But I'm off now and never felt better.

There were several times though that I had to buy from the black market (aka a couple buddies got them for me) whenever I ran out early or whatever.

I have to have the TV on to fall asleep. Well, I don't have to, I guess, but it would take me much longer. I just put my TV on a 1 hour sleep timer and watch until I'm out. And believe me, I have no trouble sleeping like a log.

I'm sure you don't like being a pussy, maybe you didn't realize it before today.

Now that you do realize it quit being a ****ing pussy.

I know you're just trying to motivate him but nicotine is a very strong drug. I quit smoking cigarettes many times before I truly quit. It pulls you back in. You have to have a pretty strong will to break free.
