Well....seems like the eye of the storm is now headed north. We have been lucky where we live. We have gotten a boatload of rain but we haven't lost power. We consider ourselves very lucky.

Good to hear that monster can just get on out there and go back to sea.

[QUOTEWelp....NE Kansas no tornados and only got .25" rain. Me thinks the weather stations want to scare us. It is better that they say it is going to be a Witches Brew, we run away, then it turns out to be nothing. Or then to say it is just a spring shower and it turns out to be a Witches Brew.

These yahoos are no better then stock brokers (which I am)

In the end, I am sure there is a bit of politics involved...see Katrina. Oops off to DC][/QUOTE]

Not good to quote yourself?

Funny hearing CNN/Weather Channel back pedaling. They made more money this week then in the last 6 months (or will from the ratings boost). Human nature: Fear and Greed.

Lost a pretty good size limb and have a ton of smaller limbs all over the place, including the pool. Next door neighbor lost a tree, and I watched the neighbor across the street's 50 foot tall pine tree fall over smashing his fence and knock down the power lines. Power line is still hanging across the road, but it's not hot as our power has been out since 11 this morning.

I read that over a million folks have lost power. once this beast dissipates its going to look like WWIII with procession of utility company's trucks making its way along the Atlantic Coast restoring power.

Hawthorne suite in Arlington, TX when I'm there for a week+.... I like it because it's a small apartment and I can live a little more normally, shop for dinner, and eat better when on the road. About a quarter of the place is usually power workers, cook guys...

This guy was smart and rode out the hurricane in the St. Augustine zoological park bathroom.
