Alex has his share of the blame but the game was within 2 points with the defense having 3 timeouts and the 2 minute warning. This was a complete team loss.

Garbage time means when one team is so far ahead it is impossible for the other team to win. That was not the case today. If the D holds then we get the ball back with time to get in field goal range and win it. That is not garbage time by any definition of the word.

Alex Smith threw an interception that hurt us badly, but he also got us back in the game with the last TD drive.

I've always thought he was a middle of the road starting QB. Always going to be about the 15-20th best QB in the league.

He was but he has regressed this year majorly more like 25-32 range now which is not good enough to win the big games
