We've already gotten the best of Andy, going forward it will just 2 steps forward and 2 steps back. Rinse, repeat.

People scoff at the idea but we should absolutely be looking for a replacement for Andy. We won't though.

At least Marty errr Andy will keep us a borderline playoff level team most of the time.

Couldn't agree more. Exactly what I was thinking when we hired him. Bring him in to re-stabilize the franchise 2-3 years. As this is happening be looking for your young guy to take over long term. IMO, we should have kept Doug.

4.5 sacks allowed in 2015
2.5 sacks allowed in 2016

Only 9 penalties in 2 years and he was one of the best pass blockers amongst G's last year. Steal for a 6th rd pick.

But can he play QB?

Bingo!

Fisher isn't anything special, but honestly, you want to at all costs maintain stability on the line with young players. We're not paying an arm and a leg for him even with his extension. I'm totally fine with it.

Plus he's a young and still ascending player.

People probably don't want to admit it, but guard was actually one of our biggest needs as LDT and Fulton were going into the final year of their contracts. Now we know that the Chiefs think a lot of LDT and gave him a long term deal. I don't think the money is as crazy as some here suggest.

Smart move as it allows us to focus on drafting the best players in the draft regardless of position.

beach tribe 02-27-2017 10:24 PM

I cannot wrap my head around this one.

Can Dorsey really foresee this guy developing into an elite G.

That's the only way that I could see this being a smart move but nobody's that good no one can know for sure.

I'm not a fan of this guy or this contract.

I think Fulton is going to make some bank once he hits the market.

Am I the only guy that picked this up? ROFL

There are some areas I trust Dorsey with his evaluation, but OL isn't one of them. He has struggled his entire tenure here to acquire elite OL talent. I also don't really like the type of OL we go for. I'd rather have the mauler type than the finesse type that we seem to covet.

BossChief 02-27-2017 11:31 PM

Fisher: signed through 2021
Ehinger: signed through 2019
Morse: signed through 2018
LDT: signed through 2022
Schwartz: signed through 2020

Seems pretty promising.

They better get a lot more dominant in their performance both run blocking and pass blocking. So far not impressed.

Reid likes to have a tone setter like him on the line. It goes all the way back to when he started his HC career with Jon Runyan.

LDT doesn't set shit

We don't have a tone setter on our offensive line, they are all finesse blockers.

it's why they pass block better than run block, nobody is that physical.

wow, so we have our average offensive line locked up for the next 3 or 4 years.

awesome

I see loads of mediocrity in our future.

You're really being an enormous sourpuss right now.

Zach Fulton was 70% the reason why we couldn't run block worth a ****fart last year. He was never supposed to be involved with that line.

Think about it. We had a pretty darn good line in 2015. What was the difference? We had a downgrade at RT, and LDT wasn't as polished at the time.

Jeff Allen -> Zach Fulton. That was the only change.

We still don't know if Ehinger is much of anything, but I guarantee he's a better LG than Zach Fulton.

We're going to be ****ing fine. Ten bucks says you will magically cheer the **** up about the OL next season, and the only significant difference you'll see roster-wise will be with our depth more than likely.
