The current deal was finalized in 2021, not 2011.

The NFL cares about ratings each year, not just when it's time to negotiate a media rights deal. They have a financial incentive to have the best ratings possible every season.

Yeah, I would see it as trends... signing for the next decade, what did the last decade look like and what are the projections. Doesn't make sense for the NFL to put a ton of effort steering the individual data points/games when there are bigger fish to fry.
