Yes and no, wrestling was a carnival act to a point. It was generally a dude that would challenge people if anyone could beat him. The guy was usually a trained badass and would just beat the **** out of whoever accepted..that's where terms like mark came from.

After that it moved to competition with guys like Gotch and Hackenschmidt where it was presented like MMA is.

Got ya... ok, so based on what you're seeing - who wins the SB? And, for next year - who is getting paid back for their efforts and will participate in next year's SB?
