The odds are high that JuJu won't play all 17 games.

I'm really hoping for a 1st round WR at this point. I want a REAL threat on the perimeter.

KC is a good place to go and then leave if you are a WR. Mahomes has made some money for guys like Albert Wilson and Pringle. If JuJu does well here he can get a better deal from someone else and make up whatever money he feels like he lost this year.

Bump 03-18-2022 03:33 PM

nice, low risk deal and we definitely needed another WR. I like it

USC boy coming to KC lol.

The last time JuJu played in an offensive situation similar to what he’ll be in next year in KC… with a legit #1 WR, with a QB who can throw the ball downfield… was in 2018 when he had 111 receptions for 1,400+ yards receiving and 7 TD’s.

And he’s still just 25 years old.

That was 4 years ago, my dude. I woulda loved to have Josh Gordon of 4 years ago too...but time matters as we've seen.

Still might get one.

Blow me.

The page long armchair GM responses freaking obnoxious. The debbie downer feedback after we sign a good young player even more irritating.

Yea, the JuJu we get is more likely to be the one from 2 years ago (831 yards 9 TDs).

Josh Gordon’s equivalent career season was 8 years from when he signed with the Chiefs last year… not 4 years… he is 30 years old (JuJu is 25) and Gordon has been in/out of the league/rehab facilities during that time-frame.

But otherwise it is a comparable situation.

JFC. LMAO

But I thought we were trading the 30th pick for DK… Shit.. I guess you can’t believe everything you read..

If the Chiefs somehow come away with a J.Williams, Burks, Pickens etc then this JuJu signing will look a lot sexier.

OnTheWarpath15 03-18-2022 03:39 PM

Yay, we're back (did we ever leave) of being the CP where you can't have concerns about players we sign, but you can shit on superstars when they get signed by rival teams.

Good Christ, guys. We're all going to have different opinions - and there's a ****ton of nuance on this one considering his age, the 1-year deal and his lack of consistent success. He (DJ) stated well before this signing why he didn't like the player - it's not like this is revisionist history.

With that said, I'm pretty meh on it, but also wouldn't be surprised if we revisit this thread in 365 days and some of y'all are complaining that we don't have him locked up for 2023 or later.

Then don't read 'em.

I'm sure there are plenty of "WOOOO!!!! VEACH!!" posts to occupy your time.

I reiterate - been doing it this way for a decade+ and it ain't changing. If anybody has a problem with it, they know where the ignore feature is.

And as always:

Josh Gordon was also twice the player JuJu ever was.

My point being that production from that long ago means nothing when he's been rather unspectacular since then.

Watkins was a much better player at the time of his signing with the Chiefs.
