You guys realize that going back in time and taking Jonathan Taylor over CEH isn't actually on the table? You get that, right?

Oh, you don't? YOu're just pissed off that CEH isn't an all-pro, and you're looking for any opportunity to shoehorn in your bitching?

Copy that.

Understood.

Now, just shut the **** up for a minute.

Love watching the blue hairs complaining about his haircut during the PC on FB. Good times.

Personally, I'm for drafting a RB, and Jones signing doesn't change that at all. I like Raachad White and Pierre Strong a lot.

Him not getting snaps over Fournette last year wasn't because of his finger...

Quote:

It was around this time last year that Jones contracted COVID-19 and broke his pinky, forcing him to miss Weeks 15 and 16 of the regular season. This opened the door for Leonard Fournette to become the starter. When a quad injury held Jones out of the wild card round of the postseason, Fournette kicked in the door and Playoff Lenny was born.

Jones was well on his way to reaching 1,000 rushing yards before missing those two games late in the year. Even then, he still came up just 22 yards short. But Jones’ fortunes changed once Fournette got in the driver’s seat and went on a torrid postseason run to help the Bucs win Super Bowl LV.

Fast forward to this season and Jones never got that starting role back. Fournette has been even better than his playoff performance, rushing for 812 yards and eight touchdowns along with 69 catches for 454 yards and two scores.

Jones, on the other hand, was forced into a backup role. He’s lucky to get 15 snaps a game on offense just to give Fournette a rest. It looked like he would hardly see the field again.

It is March 27th, 2022, and the sky is absolutely falling because we signed a former Super Bowl champ running back that has a career average of 4.5 yds/rush.

The Tyreek Hill trade after the AFCCG broke this fan base.

Everybody has completely gone full reerun.

I mean, people don’t even understand that most of these guys we’re signing aren’t even the guys we will use Tyreek’s money on.

The money we saved this year will be used for short term deals. The money we spend the next couple years in the first wave of free agency will really be the guys we “use the money we saved trading Tyreek” on.

Tyreek wasn’t traded to save money THIS year. That’s a long term issue, and along with the draft picks, should be judged 2-3 years down the the line.

Clearly going back in time to change the pick isn't an option. But if it were, I still wouldn't have taken Taylor over CEH. I wouldn't have taken a runningback in the 1st at all, and I'm sure Veach has learned from that mistake.

With hindsight being 20/20 the players I would have taken would be one of Tee Higgins, Michael Pittman Jr., Antoine Winfield Jr., Chase Claypool, Trevon Diggs, or Jeremy Chinn.

Kiimo 03-27-2022 11:29 AM

I'm not going to pretend to have known what Taylor would turn into or how the hands and fumbling issues weren't issues at all.

But I will stand by my anger at not getting Tee Higgins

Chris Meck 03-27-2022 12:23 PM

Here's the thing I find so irritating-

I would think you'd understand by now how Veach operates.

When there's a weakness, he throws bodies at it. So the guys we're signing today and last week, and next week may or may not be the guys that play a lot of snaps. They're numbers being thrown at a weakness to ensure that it will not be a weakness again any time soon.

Just like the OL last year.

Now we're doing it with WR and RB, we did it with S and LB, and we'll do it at DE, and so on, and so on. we'll do it right up until the draft, and then we'll do it after the draft too, as we add other teams' cap cuts and roster trimmings. We will adjust the roster top to bottom, side to side, and bottom up.

Sometimes you guys see a 'bottom up' signing and freak out, thinking that's THE answer to a problem, and it's really frustrating that you don't get it yet.

It's been a few years now, and still, you same guys freak out in March, and then you freak out in April, and then every year we go to the AFCCG.

Just relax, for ****'s sake.

Genuine question, but what is the most mild-mannered, balanced way of saying "not sure about this move" without getting the "SUCH THE F**K UP AND RELAX!!" response? Is it that big of a deal for people to have opinions on individual roster moves? If anyone is genuinely freaking out why not just laugh at them in a few months?

Lotsa people saying a lot worse than 'not sure about this move' from an educated standpoint.

lotsa knee-jerk bullshit, and using last year's Juju stats as an indication for a healthy season, and the same for Jones, and so on and so on and so on.

If it doesn't apply to you, move on.

If all you ever do is complain, then you probably should look at yourself.

None of these moves are set in stone, no doubt starters in 2022, although I would bet Juju plays starter level snaps. Reid. Whether Jones or MVS do will depend on the draft, and on the rest of free agency. So getting too worked up either way about any of this is dumb.

It's MARCH.

All good, take your point, and I agree re where we're at in the process. But there's also complaining about complaining, maybe just let it ride.
