Most importantly, that's great news and I'm happy to hear it.
I would however caution against coming to any conclusions regarding his cognitive function or even lung damage. He may ultimately be 100% fine, but I've seen nothing so far to indicate one way or another. A case which involves any combination of the heart, lungs, CPR, sedation, intubation, etc. can have a complicated recovery. |

Great news. If we don't win it I honestly hope it's the Bills.

My wife had, I thought, a nice idea if it's possible: Have a video of Hamlin giving a thumbs up from his hospital bed, shown on every stadium video board before each weekend game.
|
The Cincinnati Hospital is doing a press conference on Hamlin right now.
He has begun to wake up but is still critically i’ll. I don’t think he’s playing in the postseason. |

I chuckled. This is all good news. |
This is awesome

Standard boilerplate type responses from the doctors, not unusual. But it sounds like they expect to get Hamlin off the ventilator fairly soon. Just probably waiting for the fluids to drain from around his heart/lungs or whatever.
|
According to the Dr.s this was textbook resuscitation from cardiac arrest and fast. Sounds like one AED to get the heart started and one round of CPR on the field. They said CPR was not needed in the ambulance. This being said, I am surprised they didn't play Wed. night.

I'm thrilled that Damar is fine but we can all agree this definitely didn't happen right?
Not a chance the doctor actually said that. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Doctors said after Damar Hamlin awakened last night, he asked in writing who won the game. Doctors told him: “Yes, you won. You’ve won the game of life.”</p>— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) <a href="https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1611073629705408513?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 5, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |
