Slipknot, Powerman 5000, Linkin Park, all that shit.

Mmmhrmm.

I still have that shit on my playlists and put it on from time to time, idc.

But like i said, metal purists tend to frown upon that offshoot of metal as kind of a bastard child.

But i imagine people around my age wouldn't totally agree with that.

Heh. Yeah.

Remember when Em, Busta Rhymes and 50cent dropped that Hail Marry Remix and ended JaRule's career?

Good times.

He later plead guilty to conspiracy to committ murder and subsequently snitched on some gang members so he could get out of prison. He has now gotten his ass beaten in a gym by some other outstanding citizens I guess for being a snitch.

Why are we supposed to care again? The only way this story should end to make the world a better place is for this douchebag to get killed and all of his gang member friends to join him on an eternal dirt nap. Let's stop glorifying these dumb ****s and putting money in their pocket because they figured out how to rhyme the word ****a with trigga.

Your best post ever!

But for some of us, ya know.....16 years old and "Break Stuff" drops.....i mean....my head is damn near gonna come off my shoulders, "GIVE ME SOMETING TO BREAK! HOW 'BOUT YOUR ****ING FACE"

I don’t know which era would be purer, but metal changed quite a bit after the late 80’s/early 90’s after grunge became so popular. It seemed like those two genres ended up coming together and forming bands like Limp Bizkit, Rage Against the Machine, etc.

In the 80’s it felt like it was basically all the glam bands vs Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer, etc.

Also no mention of Korn they were huge in that genre and honestly I still get into Korn.

I will still listen to it if it comes on the radio or randomly pops up, don't deny my heritage at all. My dad took me to see Korn at Kemper when I was 13-14 for my first concert ever.

Just not something I seek out these days. The newer shit I listen to skews towards soft-ass indie rock.

Butt Korn.

Net even sure what that is.

I’m sure I’m in the minority but I can’t think of a sound that aged as poorly as the Beastie Boys. Sounds like 3 Jewish grandmas complaining to each other to me now.

That and when everything Irish was the rage. Boardwalk Empire era and such. I hear a Flogging Molly song now and immediately want to start murdering folks.

Rage Against the Machine and Korn really kicked off that Nu-Metal scene.

Grunge gave way to that Industrial Metal sound with the likes of Marilyn Manson and NIN etc for a brief moment. Then that NU-Metal wave kicked in as the next evolution.
