I hadn't read this until today - kinda gives me more hope for FAU: https://theathletic.com/5166884/2023...omah-learning/

Super Bowl could be a big moment for the kid. Although I doubt he gets more than 10 reps no matter what.

No longer have an Athletic sub. I'm assuming it says he had to learn how to navigate around CJ95's massive Peenor, but now hes found a way?

Kinda makes me wish we got FAU more playing time this year. Hopefully he's ready?

Which begs the question, why didn't he get more snaps? This guy was a 1st rd pick and we should have been seeing him more and more as the season wore on but we did not. Granted Danna has played very well but..... is this kid a slow learner? a slow physical development? a potential bust??? What do you guys know??

It’s a 6-9 month injury. He can be back by the first game

AP tore his ACL dec 26 2021 and came back and started game 1 2012

So he found a time machine? LMAO

No.

Also AP tore his ACL late Dec 2011 was back by the first game 2012. Won the MVP

So yes he can be back by game 1

Why does everyone pick the ONLY guy who came back early due to taking illegal drugs to speed his return?

Not realistic timeframe. Look for a late Sept/early Oct return.

Does he have surgery scheduled or completed already?

Sucks ass to lose him, that's for sure. The guy was playing his ass off and doing well. He wanted this game badly.

I'd elevate Buggs and Pennel from the PS and rotate Jones a bit more at DE.

I'm also surprised they haven't IR'd Thuney so they can elevate Reiter.

You may be onto something with Jones. I’m guessing the staff sees RT as SF’s weak point.

Have to trust the interior to hold up without Jones in there though. I guess ultimately he’s gotta move around so they don’t get a beat on us.

You realize Pennel was in the starting lineup against the Ravens and Bills, right? He's been playing a ton - no pun intended. He's gotten all of Nnadi's snaps since Nnadi got hurt.

He gets reverted to the practice squad after games though. He was elevated against the Bills as well. I believe the Chiefs can bring him up for a 3rd time. Were this the regular season, that third time would be the final one before they have to make him a permanent part of the 53, if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah. If Nnadi is back then they should still elevate Pennel again. I'm sure that's what KCCrow was referring to. Move Jones more to the outside and that kind of makes up for the body we lost, at least. Not the level of play of the overall group, but keeps the same number of bodies in the rotation.

This.

FAU is a first round pick who has had an entire season to develop and gain experience.

If washed up Frank Clark is really a better option than FAU at this point, then that is a problem.

Frank Clark is not a better option. FAU isn't getting cut. Don't be stupid.

Here is part of it...

Last week, Spagnuolo said Anudike-Uzomah’s lack of playing time has more to do with the players ahead of him than anything he’s doing or not doing.

“I think Mike, George and Charles have done a really good job,” Spagnuolo said of the trio that has generated 68 tackles, 34 quarterback hits and 21 sacks. “Then (linebacker) Leo (Chenal) gets in there, too, in that particular spot. But Felix is really coming along.

“I’ll always ask these guys questions in the meeting. I give them homework tapes to watch. I’ve got to make sure they’re watching them, right? Felix was on it, which is impressive because early on as a young rookie sometimes you miss those things. But I can see him in meetings fully intent. It’s sinking in. He’s getting it. He’s waiting for his opportunity. Hopefully when he gets it, he can rise up and be everything we thought he would be.”
