So, you've gone from comparing Alex Smith to Matt Cassel to Colin Kaepernick?

:spock:

I don't think there's a single person in the NFL that doesn't believe that Kaepernick posses elite talent, elite size and an elite arm. The guy threw out a 87 mph first pitch just five days ago. He's a freaking stud.

That said, Smith isn't "completely inferior" to Kaepernick but Kap is definitely a special athlete.

Once again, you're going off the reservation in order to make Alex Smith appear like he's hot garbage. It's intellectually dishonest.

And as I've said before in this forum, the only QB I'd take over Kaepernick today is Cam Newton.

This isnt Scott Pioli anymore that will protect his players and gift them a roster spot no matter how shitty they are or how injured. Andy Reid will cut a player without blinking while eating Taco Bell for lunch

Sure. Andy Reid's going to cut a guy that runs a 4.3, had 800 yards and 3 TD's last year, because the Chiefs are so deep at receiver.

There are at least 13 or 14 quarterbacks I'd take before Cam.

you have bigger hard on for some average bum like Avery than I do thinking Anthony Sherman sucks at FB

and I wont argue, Avery may be fine and get reps in training camp but if you dont think that HAS will be lingering all through training camp and probably the first half of the season

think again

Whoa, whoa, whoa: Newton is a gimmick? What?

He played on a team that for two years straight, had a terrible defense. All he's done is put up 8,000 yards in the air, another 1,500 on the ground and a total of 62 TD's.

Gimmick?

And Kaepernick is a BEAST. Not only is he an elite athlete, the guy can just as easily run for a 50 yard TD as he can throw one.

I don't know what NFL games you're watching but they must be much different than the games I see.

Avery is the second most accomplished receiver currently on the Chiefs roster, yet you believe he's a throwaway.

If Newton averages 20 TD's and 4,000 yards per season making "terrible reads" (and the guy doesn't have anyone to throw to), just think how good he'll be once they provide him with a surrounding cast and he gains experience.

Mike Devito is the second most accomplished DL on this roster

Dunta Robinson is the second most accomplished CB on this roster

Kendrick Lewis is the second most accomplished FS on this roster

Jon Asamoah is the second most accomplished OL on this roster

you can do this with a lot of average/bad players on paper with this team. that doesnt make them good or prone to being protected of a roster spot

BossChief 06-27-2013 10:57 PM

Rodgers
Brady
E. Manning
Wilson
Luck
RG3
Rothlisberger
Flacco
Brees
Ryan
Dalton
Tannehill
Kaepernick

None of those players are "bad" and outside of Asamoah, will likely provide quality depth.

Asamoah's due for a break out season. If it doesn't happen, it's time to move on.

If that is the case its pretty hard to argue that he is not our best option at WR2.
I would be pretty surprised If he gets cut.

Cam Newton will never win anything significant unless he has a rebirth.

I don't give two shits about the stats, the guy is a selfish player and isn't smart enough to execute a whole NFL offense. Colin Cowherd has said multiple times that coaches have told him they had to use an abbreviated playbook with him and limit his reads.

Saying you would rather have Cam Newton than any other NFL QB is silly.

mcaj22 06-27-2013 11:11 PM

Cam Newton lost to the Brady Quinn led Chiefs riding an 8 game losing streak and coming off the Belcher incident

Cam Newton lost to that team. Think about that. Down 7 and goes 3 and out in the 4th quarter to piss the game away.

He cant make a read to save his life against good or bad teams that just move guys around on defense and mask coverages

Not sure how relevant that is considering RAC's defense held Manning's offense to their worst outing all season at Arrowhead.

oh so now we are praising RACs defense scheme for doing something good?

so what is it, the scheme or the player talent?

I swear it flip flops only when its convenient to excuse and benefit the player. Usually in the case of Alex Smith or any skill player on the Chiefs or the Chiefs defense.

What I infer from your posts is that EVERYONE in the NFL sucks.

It doesn't matter if they play for the Chiefs or any other team: EVERYONE SUCKS.

Out of curiosity there, Mr. Football, how is that you know so much about all these teams when you live in Pennsylvania?

He's much further along at this point than many Hall of Famers, including Steve Young, yet he needs a "re-birth"?

at least I'm fair across the board and not just exclusive to the Chiefs when saying players suck.

We do have some very good players on this team, sadly the crappy ones for some reason get discussed a lot more in debates around here then the good ones ever do because, what is the reason to even discuss a good player when we all know that player is good at what he does, so there's a consensus about him.

Say what you want about Colin Cowherd, the guy has legit contacts across the league and just destroys Cam with things said about him by previous and current coaches and teammates.

He also says that half the lockerroom hates the guy because of his constant me first attitude.

Newton threw for 3 touchdowns should have been 4 but lafell dropped a wide open TD. The Panthers defense made Quinn look like Peyton Manning.

If you want to make this entire offseason a "war", bring it on.

You already embarrassed yourself, BIG TIME, with Geno Smith. I'll be more than happy to make a HUGE deal out of it and anything else you'd like, especially considering a dead turtle has more insight into the NFL than you.

I have absolutely no idea.

I haven't seen him play in Reid's WCO. I don't think that at this point in time, the Chiefs can win a playoff game because they just don't have anyone reliable or "big time" on the perimeter other than Flowers and Bowe.

Do I think he's capable? Yes. Will it happen? Who knows? None of us have even seen this offense with this personnel, let alone the new defensive scheme.

As I've said repeatedly, I'm making no predictions.

but they weren't. Do you watch Chiefs games blind or something? You call these guys upgrades every year and you are wrong, every year. And I'm the dumb one.

BossChief 06-28-2013 12:37 AM

I don't think Avery is an upgrade to Breaston. Robinson was a bad signing, too.

McCluster owned him in the opener last year.

Kevin Boss was an upgrade. He got a concussion and it ended his career. Or are you stating that Jake O'Connell is a great tight end?

And yes, you ARE the dumb one.

There isn't ONE GM in the NFL that would have chosen Jake O'Connell over Kevin Boss.

Hey, I'm just trying to help.

You thought Cassel could lead us to a lot of wins last year.

When you ask "when did I defend Cassel" ...that statement can get blown up.

I don't recall saying that definitively. I recall saying "maybe" back in August, but it had more to do with the additions and not Cassel.

Avery had 800 yards last year. Breaston had 74 yards last year and is currently unsigned.

All Avery has to do is is have 75 yards receiving and he's an upgrade.

Robinson is an upgrade over Jalil Brown and Travis Daniels.

Seriously, are you this dumb? Do you understand the off season and free agency?

Hindsight is 20/20. There isn't one person in the NFL that didn't believe that Kevin Boss wasn't an upgrade over Jake O'Connell.

There wasn't ONE person that thought that Eric Winston wasn't an upgrade over Barry Richardson.

Need I continue to spell this out for you?

The issue is you thought those players would really make a difference.

Welp.

Welp.

Which players? Boss and Winston? Who didn't?

Furthermore, the coaching staff failed.

And FWIW, it's not an issue.

Breaston had like 4 catches and has 1 leg. How is Avery not an upgrade?

FALSE NARRATIVE.

Wow, here we go again with your FALSE NARRATIVES. You're a ****ing IMBECILE that misuses quotes and cherry picks.

**** YOU.

And once again, you FAIL to post the entire quote:

Do you know what? I'm reporting your ass.

I am ****ing SICK of you mis-quoting me and posting partial posts to prove YOUR point.

**** YOU. I hope you're banned forever, just like your friend in ass play, Hootie.

The fact Dane is having to defend having a positive attitude this off season after an entire house cleaning of the FO and coaching staff tells you how shitty this place has become.

All you bleeding vaginas will do a 180 when this team shows promise this year and shrug and say "glad I was wrong" after flinging shit at people all off season.

Its easy to be a hater.

It's very easy. There is no risk in bitching about everything.

"Oh, they're good?" "Cool. Glad I was wrong."

And Clay is a hypocrite. He's worse than a 'born-again non-smoker'.
