Interesting. A little suspension of belief was needed for that one. LMAO

I'm really surprised Darryl wasn't more cautious opening the trailer. All the tin cans hanging from them had me suspicious.

Speaking of Carol...she's been my favorite since they got to Alexandria. Playing meek & helpless - "These people are children...children like stories."

I loved her showdown with "Porch D!ck."

That was the last step her character needed to shed he old self. Standing up to that abusive guy much bigger than her shed her of all her baggage.

Her confidence was already there but this was like Luke choosing to face Vader...

Rick is one incident away from becoming certifiable again. However, I'm thinking things are going to be pretty damn awesome now that he's going to be in charge... These pansies need some tough love.
After seeing Glen take care of bidness, I really hope they don't go the same route as the comics. Every time they focus on him I like him a little more.

Rick is at his best when he's in charge.

That said in both the show and comix he's always needed his friends to pull him back from the edge at times.

And Rick doesn't need some damaged blonde - he needs to wake up with a sword above his fireplace...:D

And something else to consider is that she has talked on a number of occasions about the psychology/mindset of an abusive man. She knew the strings to pull. She knew how to set him off.

She wound that douche up - knowing he'd have to "reclaim his manhood" - and knowing it would lead to the Rick/Douche showdown she wanted the whole time...

Possible factions in the next season???

Quote:

Today AMC revealed The Walking Dead Season 6 banner poster that will be displayed at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The poster depicts Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Morgan Jones (Lennie James) inside the apparent safety of the Alexandria walls where they reunited at the end of Season 5. Rick’s group, including Daryl (Norman Reedus), Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Carol (Melissa McBride), stand to the left of Rick and Morgan while Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam), Deanna Monroe (Tovah Feldshuh), Aaron (Ross Marquand), Jessie (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Spencer Monroe (Austin Nichols) stand to the right. I hope not because I really like Lennie James and hope his Morgan stays on the show for a long time.

They've already got a super team. This group right now is like the Apocalypse Avengers. You've got Rick the Punisher, She-Blade (Michonne), Black Daredevil (Morgan,) and Hillbilly-Hawkeye (Daryl,) with the Silver Witch (Carol) twisting the heads of people up in knots.

At this point I feel sorry for anyone that crosses them...

I did the same thing. Wondered why so many key players were missing until I looked at the larger banner.

It could be nothing but it just seems odd that they intentionally split Rick's group and the Alexandria group + Morgan & Rev. Gabs into such distinct groups.

Or maybes it's just the mid-summer lack of TWD fix hitting me.

No, I can see the two groups being at odds for sure, in spite of how it ended last season. Now with Morgan back in the mix, it should be very interesting.

Should be interesting with the progression of Rick's character.

I don't remember what seasons it happened in but over a number of episodes Rick's mantra was "you can come back. You get to come back."

Current Rick is gone. He's already miles beyond his breaking point. He's about a block away from being the man Morgan was the second time we ran across him.

Morgan on the other had has bottomed out and come back. Regained his humanity.

I could easily see Rick being the one who saved Morgan's humanity, helping him come back, and now Morgan feeling like he's got to do the same for Rick.

I'm pumped for this season. Just really love the current casting...

EW has info on some of the new characters.

http://www.ew.com/article/2015/07/28...ive-first-look

Quote:

The town of Alexandria on The Walking Dead is about to get a little bit bigger, and we have some new intel and photos on some of the characters we’ll be meeting for the first time when the show returns for season 6 on Oct. 11. It was announced at Comic-Con in San Diego that Ethan Embry and Merritt Wever would be joining the cast, but no other details were given on whom they would be playing. We have your exclusive first pictures of both as well as scoop from showrunner Scott M. Gimple on their characters, plus a fresh look at another new Alexandrian.

Wever, who won an Emmy playing nurse Zoe Barkow on Nurse Jackie, now gets a promotion to full-blown doctor. We can reveal she will be playing Dr. Denise Cloyd, a character from The Walking Dead comic, and you can see the first photo of Wever as Denise above. Denise’s role as a medic becomes critical in the community of Alexandria after the death of Pete, and in the comic her skills as a surgeon prove pivotal, especially after a ghastly injury incurred by one of the main characters—an injury which may or may not happen on the TV version.

But that’s not the only scoop we have for you. Embry (seen most recently on Netflix’s Grace and Frankie) is also joining the cast, and in addition to the exclusive first photo of him above, we can also reveal that he is playing the role of Carter. Gimple says Carter serves as a composite of different people from the original comic. “Ethan plays a combo of a few characters that we actually haven’t hit yet or weren’t able to hit in other characters,” says Gimple. “He is an Alexandrian, and has been there the whole time, just quite busy.” From the looks of the season 6 trailer that was released at Comic-Con, Carter now looks like he’ll be busy trying to turn the community against Rick for all the violence that has come to town. We’ll see how that pans out for him.

In addition to these two newbies, we’ll also be meeting another Alexandrian in season 6. It’s already been announced that Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) will be playing a character named Heath from the comic who is a supply-runner for the town (and one who becomes romantically linked to Denise in the original source material), but we’ve got an exclusive new photo for you above. Gimple had this to tell EW about Hawkins in the role: “He’s terrific and I’m so excited to see him bring Heath to life. It’s been fun and he dove in with both feet. He’s tough and skeptical when the cameras are rolling, and then when they’re off he’s just like a goofy fan. He’s really, really excited to be there.”

I was watching tonight's episode and some other episodes before that, and it struck me that the zombies on TWD seem to move much faster than those we've seen on FTWD.

Wolverine's? Right before that happened I was wondering why they weren't in this episode. Though the debate between Rick and Daryl might be foreshadowing running into them.

EDIT: Talking Dead confirms that I'm not the only one with this theory.

Was it Ron? Not buying that. Not yet.

Enid? A call for help maybe? (see next weeks preview. And what is JSS?)

Brilliant episode that blew my mind. So a bit long winded here. There are a few things I didn't understand though. Non-spoilery takes:
  • Opening scene was unreal. Last camera pan was unreal.
  • What happened to Tara earlier?
  • The black/white color changes were cool. Threw me for a loop for a bit until I figured out the pacing. Then I was hooked.
  • Ron doesn't want any part of Carl. They are either going to end up BFF's, ala Nicholas and Glenn, or that guy will be dead.
  • Liking Abraham more and more. Everyone's got to tie one on every now and then. He does like to get drunk. Seemed like a good time to do so. You've got to deal with that shit sometime.
  • Carol's acting is so transparent to me, knowing the real her. Morgan sees right through it. Not sure she trusts him. Maybe it goes both ways.
  • Loved the exchange between Maggie and Tara. Very poignant and touching. Rick's is a good group that does what it has to do. Interesting juxtaposition.
  • Loved that Nicholas is stepping up. And Glen for taking him under his wing but making him earn it. He's transitioned and is scoring points. He'll probably die.
  • Rick and Morgan remind me of Red and Andy. Enjoyed the look he gave Morgan after
    Spoiler!
But having to explain to Morgan what happened to Reg was odd. Morgan saw the whole thing.
  • Gabriel is not made for this world and he is not scoring points. He better find a way to endure himself or Rick will throw him to the wolves (pun intended).
  • Tough love from Rick's gang. "I thought you weren't taking any more chances" - Morgan. Morgan is on board with killing the weak.
  • I can't believe
    Spoiler!

Heath (Dr. Dre) is cool. I like him.
ROFL Lot's of little humorous moments in this episode.
  • "We'll do it live!" - Abraham
  • "I fully respect the hair game." - Eugene.
  • "Did you take my protein bar?" "Coulda swore there was another peanut butter bar." - Morgan. LMAO.
  • "That's the way it always is; You always think there is one peanut butter left." - Michonne. We all know she took that bar.
And good for Carl BTW. I like how they introduced that as well. In this world, he is alpha as ****.

Very, very well done episode. I was asked recently which I like better, BB or TWD. Easily TWD for me. This show just takes everything to new heights. I'm a bigger fan of the story than the zombies and graphic kills. Though those rock too! I would have accepted less less from this episode. I'm really liking FTWD but it will never be this good. It just can't be. But if it does, look out.

When does Saul return?
