Even though it sounds rather cliche', the Capitals wanted to extend this to a Game 6 more than the Penguins wanted to avoid a Game 6. You could tell by how the Caps raced for the loose pucks.

I'm still a bit concerned about this series, because even though the series is still very much in the Penguins favor: the play on the ice has been anything but.

If the Pens don't close this out on Tuesday....yeesh....I would not be the least bit surprised to see the Caps overcome this 3-1 series deficit.

I didn't see the game but I can relate to this. My PeeWee team was handed an ass-kicking in large part because of being out-skated. All the kids, including mine, were simple slower to the puck and spent too much time in reverse.

Mother****erJones 05-08-2016 12:26 PM

Need to end it game 6 penguins. They were due to win. Hope Maata comes back for 6.

How much per ticket? How much in fees?

Pasta Little Brioni 05-08-2016 05:38 PM

100 a piece for lesser quality seats. 30 bucks a ticket added on for fees. Spent close to 100 bucks in "fees"

It would be nice if congress would spend some time fixing that issue. The company needs to be taken to task to say the least.

They can piss off. Complete bullshit that it's legal. Not missing a shot at clinching their first trip to the West finals in eons though.

That is 100% it. They looked damn tired too, hope they are ready to play tonight. If not, time to dust off the damn golf clubs.

Sharks are loaded man. No shame in losing to them. So many close to even powerful teams in this league. The competitive balance in this sport is incredible.

For a team that probably should have been eliminated in six last series , to get this to this point is just living on house money.

I feel like the Blues have dominated this series, but I'll give Dallas credit because they have cashed in on the Blues dumb mistakes. Seems like the Blues last 2 losses in this series they had about a 3 minute span playing like idiots.

They certainly have. Credit to them.

Blues are 1-3 these playoffs with a chance to end the series, that's frustrating as hell.

DaFace 05-09-2016 09:58 PM

Both of the western series are headed to game 7. That's fun (though probably not so much for Blues and Sharks fans).

I'm pulling for a Blues-Preds conference final.

New World Order 05-09-2016 09:59 PM

Just saw this . Was up in the 300s towards the end the Blues shot twice. The Stars basically gave up trying to score and played prevent. Blues should have put in 5 goals. Tank, Steen, and Schwartz all missed gimmes. Thought for certain Schwartz tied it at the end. The roof was ready to come off the place if he did. Oh...and **** #Bang dude.

MMXcalibur 05-10-2016 12:13 AM

I don't think the Penguins win a Game 7 in Washington (even though they've done so in the past). I would hope the Penguins come out guns a-blazin' tomorrow night rather than let the Capitals dictate the play.

This is it boys! Big game tonight. Pens can't let it go 7 or they're in trouble. I expect a fast a Pens team on fire early and often. Get an early lead and keep the pressure on.

That needs to be the talk in the locker room. At this point "playing loose" might not be OK - they did that in the 1st period last night and it wasn't helpful.

Pasta Little Brioni 05-10-2016 10:01 AM

Elliot got outplayed by that turd kari Lehtonen. Think about that for a second. His soft goals killed a fired up crowd. The energy returned but couldn't overcome his bullshit.

Yeah we are in big trouble if we let this go to 7. I expect caps to surge first honestly. If we can weather that storm and at least keep it even we can win it when they inevitably cool off.

Early goal on them though and "hoo boy".

kcpasco 05-10-2016 10:35 AM

Blues need to get back to hitting, it's what won them the Chicago series. I know it's hard to do every game because of the physical toll it puts on your body but they aren't beating the Stars trying to out skate them.

Pasta Little Brioni 05-10-2016 11:39 AM

They've definitely outplayed the Stars and they should since Dallas is missing a stud in Seguin. You would think the dude has never existed if you watched the broadcast, but he's a huge loss for them. Letting turds like Fiddler get soft goals should never happen.

Predarat 05-10-2016 07:32 PM

Damn Pens are on fire!

Mother****erJones 05-10-2016 07:54 PM

3-0 then Kunitz commits a silly penalty leading to a goal by Oshie. There was only about 2 minutes left I wanted 3-0 after 2. I'll take 3-1. That gave them some momentum to end the 2nd. That penalty by Orpik changed the game. It was a tight 1-0 game then the 4 min major. 2 goals off that. I've never seen that before, but I'm not a die hard hockey fan who watches every game. I love the sport. It's my favorite postseason sport. I was into the Chiefs season and knew there were 82 games, so I didn't watch every game because this year I didn't buy the hockey package. Once KCs season ended I kicked it in full gear. This run is similar to 2009. Crazy crazy crazy. What a ****ing ride so far with a rookie goalie. Murray is sensational.

Mother****erJones 05-10-2016 08:22 PM

3-2 now. This is gut wrenching. Caps have the momentum and feels like they'll tie it at some point.

Mother****erJones 05-10-2016 08:26 PM

Caps an another PP thanks to Kunitz. He's costed them one goal already with a silly penalty. Here comes another

Mother****erJones 05-10-2016 08:34 PM

Penguins are ****ing stupid. Giving this away

Mother****erJones 05-10-2016 08:40 PM

This series is done watch. Pens just choked it away big time. Thanks Kunitz you dumb ****

Predarat 05-10-2016 08:50 PM

Rams Fan 05-10-2016 09:29 PM

So, the East has two teams that haven't completely choked in their franchises' existences.

Meanwhile, in the West, there's a team that's never been to the WCF(Preds), a team that has been a choker its entire existence(Blues), another team that has been a choker its entire existence (Sharks), and a team that used to be a choker, won a cup and made another, then went back to choking (Stars).

Well bummer of a night for our Missouri Mavs. I was on the other sheet coaching the 8U/SQ kids and we heard it wasn't going very well next door in the main bowl. Ugh, Mavs ended up losing 5-1.

OK, back to NHL...

Got a bad feeling about tonight...I know the road team has been winning games left and right in this series but another Game 7? Ugh.

Curious if they go back to Elliott or stick with Allen...

Predarat 05-11-2016 07:12 AM

Only getting one goal out of that string of powerplays did Washington in, and they had a lot of 5 on 3 time too. Pens vs TBL should be a damn good series. Games 7s tonight and tomorrow!

Speaking of the Mavs, Hunts are bringing another hockey team to Overland Park's new arena. This is junior hockey, but really good. It's the top high school players in the country - Omaha, Des Moines etc all have teams. It will be a nice compliment to the Mavs.

Eh, it would be a natural termination point either way.

If they can't get over the hump, it's time to move onto the next era. You let Backes walk at that point, you try to find a taker for Bouwmeester and maybe even Steen.

Windows close and windows punctuated by little more than heartbreak and disappointment don't just close, they slam shut on a few fingers.

If they lose tonight, I think they start to re-tool. They have all their draft picks and a fair amount of young talent on defense. Their forward ranks are thinned out in the minors but Barbeshev will be here soon and it's time to shit or get off the pot with Rattie and Jaskin.

Elliot's probably built some trade value so it would be time to commit to Allen and see if Binnington, Copely or Husso are ready to take on backup duties (way early on Husso but the other 2 may be ready for it).

Ownership has given their all; they've done everything they can to keep this window open for as long as possible. But this year's team can't come back intact if for no other reason than the cap. When next year's squad is likely to be at least a little worse than this version, why not just hit the re-set button, move some guys for assets while they still have value (that Shatty for Drouin deal would start to look enticing) and get guys like Schwartz locked up long term rather than settling for a bridge deal.

I honestly believe that Hitch has already decided he's not returning regardless.

With that said, they're up against the cap and they're going to have to re-tool regardless if they lose tonight, or win the whole ****ing thing.

Agree 100% with DJ. And I was reading that the rules for the potential expansion draft might give us an out for Bouwmeester...

As far as tonight goes, I really believe we win. That's rare for me in respect to this organization and these situations.

Rams Fan 05-11-2016 04:22 PM

I agree, I think Hitch is done regardless. He's on a 1 year contract like TLR was with the Cardinals so he can choose when he wants to stop coaching. When that happens, he'll likely a scout or something like that to Army.

As for players, I think Shattenkirk's gone due to them re-signing Gunnarson. One of Backes and Brouwer will leave, IMO, if they lose tonight. Ott, Paajarvi are likely gone. Steen, maybe.
