Lol nice try. Lebron packed up and was ready to sit out the rest of the season because he's bitchmade. Only when he was out the door did Pelinka drop his balls on the table and fix the mess.

LeBron travelled to Germany to get a second opinion on his injured foot that required surgery. He's sacrificed everything in returning to give his team a chance this year. The ultimate team player.

Sassy Squatch 04-01-2023 05:45 PM

Lol no. Healthy enough to stat whore for longevity records because that's literally all he has left to even try to compete with MJs legacy (LOLOLOLOLOLOOLO). As soon as he accomplished it he shut it down. Because he's completely bitchmade.

Now we sitting at a chance to be able to — to hell with the Play-In — we actually can be a top-eight seed,” James said. “That definitely changed my mindset on me coming back and trying to be a part of this, obviously...

The guy has fought and is fighting through an injury so bad that two different doctors recommended that he shut it down and opt for surgery. Few players would jeopardize their career like that to help their team, but he knows the Lakers have a chance after the moves he made.

Sassy Squatch 04-01-2023 05:52 PM

Lol, if he's healthy enough to stat whore, he's healthy enough to play, period. Still amazed he actually admitted to how bitchmade he is, though.

Correct. There's little point in him jeopardizing his remaining career with a debilitating injury for a team going nowhere. He would have shut down his season like Lillard did if that was the case. But the Lakers are very much a contender now with LeBron on the floor thanks to the moves that he helped pull off.

So your argument is that he should have played through an injured foot requiring surgery at age 39 on a team going nowhere? What exactly would have been the point of that? LMAO

He probably should've been a bit more discreet about the timing to not appear COMPLETELY bitchmade, yes. Quite transparent to stat whore to the scoring record then shut it down. Just another reason quite a few won't ever respect him as the GOAT. He's just proven to be bitchmade too many times

A guy isn't travelling all the way to Germany to seek out a second opinion on his injured foot if he wants to shut his season down. He clearly wanted to try to do whatever he could to help this team if they had a chance and he did and is doing that.

And he's the GOAT whether you like him or not. The guy is shattering every individual record in basketball history. It's not even going to be close in the end.

Whatever you say. I know you are obsessed with LeBron but end of the day this an NBA thread, not a LeBron thread.

Last time I checked the Lakers ain't doing shit this year. So stop trying to make LeBron the main topic in this thread. His dynasty is over. He's just a old stat padder who gets hurt all the time

Such a weird obsession to have. He reminds me of Sandy Cheeks and his battle to force everyone love Alex Smith.

The great ones are just must see TV. Not just during the playoffs or major events in their sports. There have been many great players in all of the sports during my lifetime. And I would call myself a pretty avid sports fan.

In golf I was privilaged to see Palmer, Nicklaus, Watson, and all of the current stars. But Tiger Woods was the must see guy every week he was competing.

In hockey. Howe, Orr, Richard, Lemieux, Messier, etc. But the must see guy in hockey was Gretzky. If the Oilers were on you watched. It was must see TV.

In football there have been so many it is hard to even quantify listing. Unitas, Sayers, Simpson, Montana and Rice to name a few. Mahomes has entered that category of must see TV.

Baseball is harder. Mays, Mantle, Gibson, Ryan, Griffey JR, Reggie Jackson, etc. One guy that was trending towards must see was Bo Jackson, but his career was cut short.

In basketball I've seen Russell, Chamberlin, Kareem, Bird, Magic, and the current list of greats. All awesome to watch. But the must see TV guy was Jordan. Hands down.

And while we watch all the great ones and admire their talents, the Tiger's, Gretzky's, Mahomes's, and Jordan's are must see because you just never know what they might be able to do that you have never seen before in that sport. When you think you have seen it all, they out do even themselves.

Well it's less hypocritical, but more petty (it's still the Texas Rangers' franchise top moment, sad as that is). If you're happy with it though.

It was an incredible and iconic play. But it is not an iconic image. As a Jayhawk fan the charmers photo gives me chills but it isn’t iconic outside of Lawrence.

Jordan and Ali photos look like time stopped. Not only was Jordan’s shot iconic, the jump celebration was too.

Also, any list needs to have Pete rose diving for the base. Please and thank you.

Barry's not wrong here. He's showed a lot of character to return, but he's very clearly struggling physically just to be out there for his team. If LeBron isn't 100%, it will make winning any playoff series a near impossibility.

A look at the Mavs schedule compared with the Thunder and I think its even money that either get the 10 spot even though the Mavs are 1 GB. I believe Thunder have the tiebreaker as well. Mavs all home games left

Vs Chicago
Vs San Antonio

Thunder
@Golden State

While that was a nice play, and this was his crowning moment, there is always room for the debate if this even happens had Draymond Green not gone full Draymond Green and missed a game.

I was assured that the key to winning meaningful basketball games was acquiring a superstar like Kyrie Irving.

I suppose we can just hand-waive the Mavericks 8-15 record since he got there, eh?

LeBron only a 0.5 game behind 5th place now.

Guess it's a good thing they didn't quit on the season like their supposed leader was inclined to do...

I suppose we can just hand-waive the Mavericks 8-15 record since he got there, eh?

I think it cancels out if the other “superstar” on your team hasn’t been inside a gym since he got in the league. Is there a more out of shape professional athlete that’s supposedly “in his prime” than Luka? Should we really be surprised they lost steam down the stretch with fat Luka as their main guy?

DJ's left nut 04-03-2023 09:51 AM

If Luka isn't a star then the 'stars and scrubs' model allows for like 8-10 players to qualify.

So yes, you can win a championship if you get 30% of the leagues top 10 players on your roster.

I'll be the first to admit that my interest has waned a bit with the Wolves and Thunder both falling to play-in positions. I'll still watch for the Kings and Bucks (and maybe the Nuggets), but if the Wolves and Thunder don't advance past the play-in, there'll be several series I won't care much about.

Massive overtime road win for LeBron in Utah. Hits the game winning shot with a 37-5-6 line to move the Lakers into a tie for 5th in the conference.

What a player. What a hero. The GOAT.

7-0 when he starts.

Thunder absolutely embarrassing themselves in this 4th Q at GS.

Only starter on the team with a negative +/-

Or does that not matter this time?

Or how 'bout the 7 point lead lost down the stretch as James committed an awful offensive foul and an unnecessary shooting foul? The 5 turnovers when the rest of the team combined had 6?

James was just a ball dominant black hole tonight. Fortunately the rest of the squad was efficient enough to overcome his shenanigans.

If you're going to troll - be better.

Translation: Warriors Defense stepping up in the 4th quarter. 10 min to go GS was down by 3 and they ended up winning by 11. Defense leads to offense.

As the defending NBA Champs the Warriors can finish and will be a tough out for any team who faces them in the playoffs.

Los Angeles LeBron's get all the credit for a W while another team doesn't get credit for the W. ;)

While the entire team was shitting its pants around him, LeBron showed up and showed up big in overtime. Incredible performance, one that was much needed after the 4th quarter collapse. The Lakers haven't lost a game he's started since he returned and it's no coincidence.

Let's see if the Warriors try to dodge Durant over the next 3 games. You know they're going to try.

Someone should rename this thread to ***Official 2022-2024 LeBron Thread****

Thanks KC Connection for ruining this thread.

Thanks KC Connection for ruining this thread.

Except for the fact that there wouldn't even be an active NBA thread at all if not for LeBron discussions. I've made posts about various NBA topics in these threads for many years but few ever want to talk to anything else (in fact, ironically, of your 10 posts in this thread, 6 of them have been about LeBron or responding to something about LeBron).

I suppose it's just another measure of his greatness.

chiefzilla1501 04-05-2023 04:10 AM

Embiid may have locked up mvp last night. Vegas odds have been in his favor for a few weeks. Jokic missing a few games then losing to the rockets crashed his stock. Giannis destroyed embiid but it didn't seem to move either line.

Anything can still happen and of course the vote is subjective but with 3 games left it would take something really major to swing the lines

Good on Lebron for pulling an Elway and bombing for the first 48 minutes so he could show up in OT and steal the credit.

Like I said - it's an art at this point for Lebron and his fans.

Every year the dubs win a championship they seem to miss playing a team that would've "destroyed" them. Suns might be that team again this year.

You think the Warriors have a small chance of making some noise in the playoffs?

Lakers could go either way it seems and the Suns look good enough. Kings might surprise a few.

DJ's left nut 04-05-2023 12:31 PM

I don't think the Kings can survive the 7 game series format when they don't really play defense to speak of.

It's hard to outscore playoff caliber teams 4 times, especially without a true superstar.

Small chance? The Warriors are one of the favorites to come out of the West.
