His show in its new timeslot is quite entertaining because it doesn't take itself too seriously and there are plenty of different personalities to keep the others in check.

I'd liken it to Kevin Wildes on that same show. I used to vomit on the old show every time he'd talk Patriots or Brady, but now his Mac Jones as Baby Goat shtick is way more funny and endearing than it is annoying. He's doing it to get a laugh more than he's doing it to be a hot take douche to drive up ratings, and I think Nick has a lot of those same qualities.

The numbers say differently. So does Nick Wright (correctly). One of the very few media members nationally to publicly express it on both him and Mahomes.

Don’t pick on Opie. He’s had a hard life having to walk around with that face.

As a Chiefs fan I wish he'd just go away. Obnoxious when the Chiefs win and spits out excuse after excuse when they lose. He's like a 12 year old fan boy. I've been listening to Eisen, Rome, Dan Patrick for years and years and I have no idea who their favorite teams are. The guy is a man child and makes all Chiefs fans look bad

That same network has Skip Bayless spewing hatred all the time against Mahomes & KC, no matter the result on the field. So I guess they figure they are balancing out the Bayless hatred with Wright's fanboyism. Both are annoying as hell.

smithandrew051 11-13-2022 07:50 PM

Josh Allen might be a worse football player than Jonathan Taylor (the previous worst player of all time)

Peter Gibbons 11-13-2022 08:20 PM

I have a theory. Everyone says Josh is a good guy. I believe them.
I think he’s just trying to make Broncos fans feel better about picking Bradley Chubb.

RaidersOftheCellar 11-13-2022 08:52 PM

Any KC fan who hates Nick Wright takes this stuff way too seriously. God forbid a Chiefs fan with a platform relishes being a Chiefs fan with a platform.

Shiver Me Timbers 11-13-2022 08:57 PM

Allen easily gets frustrated and then starts making mistakes. He was that way in Wyoming

Especially compared to Mahomes RZ numbers. It’s like night and day.

Yeah, I only listen to random clips posted here, but find it amusing... and that's the point. When he's split-screened with 3 other people, the others just smile and nod. I feel like he has a role just like Bayless and others who are more "personalities" (and in the case of Bayless, caricatures) than analysts, and he plays the role well.

Which is crazy because he didn’t throw his first redzone INT until 2022. Four years and 0 redzone picks.

He started his career something like 82 TD’s and 0 INT in the redzone.

Allen deserves a lot of blame for the Bills last 2 losses.

No. He has the wrong favorite professional football team.

First things First is absolutely hilarious and I can verify fans of other teams really enjoy his banter and takes even though he's an obvious homer.

Yeah…he’s not nearly as hated as you’d expect. Most people see him as entertaining and articulate.

Besides, while his Mahomes praise is over the top, is any of what he says actually untrue? Probably his most blatant act of homerism is having KC at the top of his rankings every week, but as of this moment, that’s not looking like a bad take.

Allen threw a redzone interception in the 2020 AFCCG

dallaschiefsfan 11-14-2022 05:31 AM

RE: Wright, Bayless, et-al - Once you make the distinction between sports personalities/commentators and sports reporters (actual journalists), you won't let any of the former group get under your skin. It's like all the news channels...people who get high blood pressure of that junk have yet to learn to distinguish between the commentary/partisan shows and the hard-news reporters of said-channels.

That line of scrimmage was just over the 20 yard line (like the 20.5 yard line). I know that sounds ridiculous but i’m guessing that’s why it’s officially (according to the stat keepers) not a redzone pick? Or you can count that and it would make it 1 redzone int in his first 4 seasons.

DrunkBassGuitar 11-14-2022 07:31 AM

Nick Wright's smug assholeness is directed mostly towards sports media people and sorry if you picked the Chiefs to miss the playoffs and the Raiders to win the AFCW you kind of deserve to be condescended to because that's a dogshit take that should be roundly mocked.

Probably because the stat only counted the regular season

Oh Snap 11-20-2022 03:42 PM

Allen passed for under 200yds and 1 TD today. They looked like ass. Good thing they were playing the browns. Allen looks off

Rainbarrel 11-20-2022 10:46 PM
