Hurts is nothing more than Alex Smith in a green uniform. Even in college he was replaced by Tua because he was afraid to throw the ball down the field. He hesitates all the time unless his receivers are wide open. And Sirianni has thrived in a weak NFC, he doesn't even call plays. You can train a monkey to do his job.

Not because of the Eagles. It’s all about what this game represents. It’s a legacy breaker. Nobody has ever done this.

Being the best team ever is a height no other team can match. And it will push Mahomes up the board past Montana no question.

It would quite literally just be him and Brady.

Enjoy the ride, every game this year has been like this.

This is just the poverty version of the team we faced in 57.

Just like we just faced the poverty version of the '21 Bills.

And we are a better team now.

All of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again.

I believe the NFL requires teams to wear their "regular" home or away uniform in the Super Bowl.

For us that is white on red. White on white or red on red are considered alternates for us.

When I think back to teams we've faced during this run.

1. A hot Jags team who just came back from 20 plus points down. And to make matters worse Pat got injured.

2. Then a huge rival in the Bengels who had beaten us three games in a row including the last playoff game and just went into Buffalo and crushed them.

3. The Eagles who were a number one seed, had a historic passrush and a QB who was in the MVP race.

4. A Miami team who had several dangerous weapons and a great run game.

5. Buffalo in their own building seeking revenge and were riding a long winning streak including a win over us.

6. A Ravens team who were the number one seed. Had the best offense and defense rankings. Had an MVP QB and blew out several playoff teams. Oh, and they were at home.

7. San Fran team who were the number one seed. Loaded with talent from top to bottom with a generational RB, a quality head coach and revenge on their minds

8. Texans with a great defense, a good QB with two stars in Collins and Mixon.

9. Buffalo once again riding high and once again motivated by revenge.

Just the experience of these guys and everything they've faced gives me comfort. We've faced great QB's and teams in their own buildings. We've faced great head coach's and coordinators. We've faced great defenses and run games. We've faced teams who have had our number and teams our for revenge. We've felt the pressure of being favourites and underdogs Our guys have seen it all and that will be crucial on Sunday.

Chiefspants 02-04-2025 08:08 PM

The Miami game to me really showed this group’s resolve. Miami was pretty broken at that time, but if the Chiefs had been satisfied with being defending champions, a -4 degree day would have been a great time to dip out.

Miami definitely dipped, but the Chiefs sacked up and showed they weren’t going to go gently into the night.

Really ****ing sucks for the coaches and players. They’re on a historic run. Nobody has been to 5 of 6 Super Bowls. Nobody has won back to back, and made it back a third straight season. They’ve played more games than any other team in that period, worked their ****ing asses off, fought through so much adversity during all 3 seasons. Now they’re on the verge of immortality, and all the media, reporters, past and current players and coaches have NOTHING to talk about or ask them except for ThE rEfS! It’s unbelievably embarrassing the way this team is being treated.

I hope it’s just motivating them, the more they are faced with this stupidity. And I hope they take it all out on the Eagles on Sunday.

Imagine after all the countless hours of training, coaching, effort, and putting your body on the line, everyone says all your wins and championships are worthless because they think your cheating.

Seriously, imagine going up to Patrick Mahomes, the greatest modern day athlete and calling him a cheater. Or Kelce, the closest playoff performer to Jerry Rice.

Mahomes007 02-05-2025 02:03 AM

Chiefs have GOT to be prepared for the Eagles defence to punch the ball out whilst making the tackle. The punch is the hardest thing to stop, and doesn't affect tackling much if done correctly. These turnovers and immense momentum shifts doomed the Commanders.

Chiefs must also fight fire with fire and do their best to punch the ball out of the Eagles hands, as much as they possibly can. Also, the Omenihu chop on the QB's throwing hand must be incorporated on everyone on our defence, its another potential game changer that is way more valuable than a sack.

chiefzilla1501 02-05-2025 02:13 AM

Total bullshit question and Travis asked the right question. It’s one thing for douche bag fans to bitch about refs, why the **** is the media doing it? Mcafee said it best, do these people really think that in the world of legalized gambling the refs are colluding to swing games for the chiefs? That is a gigantic class action lawsuit waiting to happen

It's very insulting, that's for sure. The haters don't want to admit the Chiefs might actually be a pretty good football team. They can keep talking shit. Hopefully it continues to drive this team in the right direction: more championships...starting on Sunday.

Philthy fanbase as usual has been very cocky this week. They think and believe their roster is fully stacked and they'll win by double digits. I can't wait to see the reaction of these bastards Sunday night when the Chiefs lift their threpeat Lombardi while wearing the threpeat t-shirts, custom made for this special occasion.

You'd think these numbnuts would have some level of respect for the two-time defending champions but I guess not. Philthy fandom never dissapoints.

Their roster is honestly great but they're starting two rookies at CB. Experience matters on this stage and Andy is going to throw everything at them.

You'd think these numbnuts would have some level of respect for the two-time defending champions but I guess not. Philthy fandom never dissapoints.

For a team that spent most of the season basically sucking at pressuring the QB, they sure are getting a lot of glaze/confidence from a hot postseason pressure run (that came against QBs that take sacks and OLs that aren't awesome at pass blocking and game situations that made it easy to pin their ears back).

Seriously, imagine going up to Patrick Mahomes, the greatest modern day athlete and calling him a cheater. Or Kelce, the closest playoff performer to Jerry Rice.

He’s from Boston, or at the least the New England area. This means that he’s probably a Pats fan who has no awareness. He thinks the refs cheat for KC while most likely never acknowledging all the favorable calls they got in the Brady era.

This is the one thing that he can do that will take him from legend to immortality. I pray he’s not thinking about that though. To me, this game solidifies him and Brady as 1 and 2 and in their own tier.

I've wondered that, too. But what gives me peace of mind is thinking about all of the pressure put on him leading up to the SB against the Bucs. And Pat still came out and played the game of his life. It's just his OL and receivers let him down. I'm sure Pat will be ready.

Chiefs must also fight fire with fire and do their best to punch the ball out of the Eagles hands, as much as they possibly can. Also, the Omenihu chop on the QB's throwing hand must be incorporated on everyone on our defence, its another potential game changer that is way more valuable than a sack.

Buffalo was also known for punching the ball out, yet KC had zero turnovers due to that (the only one being a botched handoff). I promise they have covered that ad nauseam over the past couple of weeks.

My God what a disaster. Opening kickoff fumble by the Packers lead to the the Eagles only TD on great field position. Packers missed a FG. Love threw 3 INT’s including one where he threw it right at Baun LMAO. They fumbled 3X and barely recovered 2 of the 3.

So the Packers had 4 turnovers and a missed FG and it was still only 16-10 in the middle of the 4th quarter.

They barely beat a disastrous Packers team playing perfectly, beat a Rams team due to the snow and then beat an overachieving team that had a rookie QB and horrific tackling.

We are the better team here

And that Packers defense is probably the closest to KC's that they've faced. PHI's faced almost nothing but bottom tier defenses all year, including 6 games in their division. On the few occasions they faced a good defense, their offense didn't produce much.

The defenses they've had success against were those that are especially bad at stopping the run.

smithandrew051 02-05-2025 09:49 AM

People also seem to forget that Washington’s OL is 40% guys that would’ve been back ups for the Chiefs this year (at least when Thuney was at LG).

Then, losing Sam Cosmi really hurt them.

RunKC 02-05-2025 09:49 AM

Great point by Mitch here. The Bills are the closest team to the Eagles and they did adopt a lot of their philosophy on offense leaning on the QB’s legs and the RB with a strong OL.

Defense is almost exactly the same philosophy as well. Same exact blitz rate as Fangio wanting to win with 4, play cover 2 shell and force shorter completions.

Sounds like:

Bengals fans two years ago
Philly fans two years ago
Buffalo fans last year and this year
Ravens fans last year
Niners fans in 2019/last year

Eagles offensive line is purposely massive by design. I read that they outweigh our D front five by an average of 28 Lbs per guy.
I trust Spags finds a creative way to get around them rather than through them.

Plus Cook is closer to Barkley than Hurts is to Allen.

Allen is so much better than Hurts it’s not even funny. If Hurts landed in almost any other situation, he wouldn’t be a starter anymore. He has completely mediocre passing stats despite being in one of the most favorable situations a QB could ask for.

Damn, I was legit going to say he’s the dude who killed Tyra Banks. Why should we care what he thinks?

He's actually a decent dude and can be pretty funny. He just seems like a guy that is constantly battling bitterness. Maybe because he never broke through being a supporting actor?

Same deal with the Rams game. The Eagles got lucky with the weather saving them as well as 2 turnovers. The Rams were only down 16-15 going into the 4th quarter when the snow started coming down hard and the wheels fell off.

This is what I've been saying in the Barkley thread, the guy is simply not a good passing QB at all. That's really all there is to it. He had the game of his life against us in the first matchup, and I don't think you'll ever see that kind of performance from him again. To have the kind of weapons he does and still not even break 3,000 yards this year, no matter how great the running game was, is absolutely brutal. You give Mahomes this offensive lineup, and there would be records being shattered every single week.

Like you said, he's in probably the best situation a QB could conceivably have, and he's been nothing but pedestrian. I'm playing man to man with a stacked line every single down until they prove they can do anything through the air.
