I love Mingo but he does need to get better at his route running to create more separation.

I’m a K-Stater so I’m admittedly biased, but I love the pick. Felix is underrated IMO, going to be a great player.

Remember when Felix set the NCAA sack record against TCU? Oh yeah, they reversed two of the fumbles on stupid rule technicalities - after the fumbles he caused the ball was advanced passed the LOS so “not a fumble”. Felix should be the co-NCAA record holder for sacks in a game.

If you look at rankings this is right in the range where Felix would start to get drafted. He’s in a small tier with White and Ojulari. As discussed in the draft, there is a really big drop off in DE talent after these guys. If KC didn’t take one in the first it would be slim pickings.

The draft just fell poorly for KC with other teams not taking Levis, Porter or Mayer.

What’s the deal with Porter a congenital spine issue?

I might be way off, but I did think after the round finished..."are GMs getting less dumb" - it just felt like there were fewer WTF moments. There are guys who went earlier than I expected, and somelike like Richardson could end up a massive bust. But most years there's at least 1 or 2 guys picked that just have no business being there, I'm struggling to see one this year. Most of the picks seem pretty defensible.

If you'd love a guy at 38 or 40, then you take him at 31 for the fifth year, if nothing else. Don't try to get cute.

Look I like the guy and think he will be quality for us but I REALLY wanted them to draft Mayer, not to replace Kelce in the least but having two amazing TE and they both kind of act like receivers anyway would be amazing. It would be like the Pats back with Gronk and Hernandez . That combo would of been amazing.

This is a great TE class. If they want to do that, there are a handful of other guys.

2 running backs were chosen in the 1st round. One in the top 10. There are your “wtf” moments.

Listen I'm as big of "no RB in the 1st RD" guy as anyone. I HATED the CEH pick and I will almost always think it's dumb. But Robinson does enough of everything to make it justifiable. Gibbs, meh, I guess, but still a good player.

jack campbell i believe his name is from iowa going in the teens is a wtf moment to me

I bought into all the zay flowers kool-aid. Provided mostly by chiefsplanet.com. This kid is half the size of roger goodell. Looked like lil John standing up there.

For a second when they showed Zay was standing next to Richardson I thought he was the yield from that pimple exploding

Very excited to see what KC does over the next few days. The first round is what it is, but dynasties are built and sustained in rounds 2-7. Looking at KC's roster, it is amazing how few 1st rounders were starting. I can only think of four off the top of my head (Mahomes, Toney, McDuffie, and Kalaftis). Veach does his best work after Round 1, so I feel confident that he will draft some very solid players that some might not have expected him to.

It seems that way. Veach is so good that AFC teams won’t deal with him unless they think they can fleece KC.

Hence the problem. Unless, they are sure, beyond a shadow of a doubt, they are going to fleece the Chiefs, they just wont deal with Veach.
