Ted Lilly was put on waivers, and the Cards didn't even try to put a claim on him or work out a trade.
Thanks for 5 innings of 4 run ball, Soup: http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/6282/****t.gif |
So, Hamas, which members in the front office and coaching staff should be fired?

I'm having an easier time disliking these guys than any of those Baker squads.
It's truly the most hateable bunch of lazy assholes I've ever seen. You could see it way back in May/June - they just didn't have any drive all season. Fortunately I quit on them when Felipe Lopez walked backwards on a simple routine groundball to shortstop against the Nationals and was so damn lazy that the runner beat the throw. It wasn't a slow roller, just a groundball to short, and that ****head couldn't be bothered to actually throw the ball to 1b quickly enough to record the out. He took a couple steps backwards, crowhopped a couple times and floated one over to first. I changed the channel with the Cardinals holding a 2-0 lead and haven't seen a pitch since. The ended up losing that game (of course) and my nights are far better now that I don't have to watch those mother****ers go through the motions anymore. I absolutely despise this ballclub. Go Rolen, Edmonds and Jocketty. If you can't manage, go Bobby Cox or the Padres (a club that actually plays hard). The 2010 Cardinals cease to exist to me. |

I would far prefer the Cardinals sack up, play baseball and actually overtake someone, but that's simply not going to happen (5 years without a winning September says all that needs to be said). As such, I have my post-season rotation all lined out at this point. Though, for the record, if LaRussa is managing this ballclub next year, I'm suspending my membership in Cardinals nation until he's gone and DeWitt sells the team. I will not support this team if ownership refuses to enact significant change after this abortion of a season. Wanna bet they keep him rather than risk alienating their golden goose? There's no way they do anything that might endanger getting AP signed to a contract extension. They learned from the McGwire circuis - create a sideshow and the fans will show up. The useful idiots will keep buying tickets so long as they get to see AP bat 4 times a game and Dollar Bill will get to add another room to his place in the Hamptons. Winning be damned. |

And you know what? **** cowtowing to Albert Pujols. There's no way the constant pandering to the man hasn't played a large role in this clubhouse being a damn mess. He and Yadi play by a different set of rules and it has to wear on guys like Colby Rasmus who got benched because of a bad matchup with the HOME PLATE UMPIRE. I shit you not, LaRussa made him a late scratch because he didn't think he matched up well with the damn plate umpire. Unbelievable. Start the **** over. Upper management and coaching staff -- all. gone. Go out and hire a qualified GM rather than a trained stooge (like we should've done with Chris Antonelli). Then take the novel approach of actually allowing him to run his ballclub, as opposed to making him LaRussa's diaper boy like ****smoke Moe. This organization is cancerous to the bone. I'm not terribly interested in leaving a cell of it behind. Get rid of the entire MFing lot of them and start over. If Pujols leaves - **** him. Baseball existed in St. Louis before him, it will exist after him. Forgive me if I won't be heartbroken over losing the opportunity to pay him $30 million/season as he ages. Dammit I miss having a qualified General Manager. How the shit has Mozeliak taken a team that came with AP, Yadi, Carp, Wainer, Garcia and a slew of viable bullpen arms, not to mention valuable parts like Ryan and Jay, and turned it into an also-ran. What a worthless piece of shit. |

We have, at best, 1 season - 2011. Then AP costs too much to build a real team around. And just exactly how are we going to build a legitimate championship contender next season? Lohse isn't going anywhere. Skip isn't going anywhere. And this management team evidently decided it needed to trade Ryan Ludwick for a ****ing mopup man so that they could save pennies to sign Albert long-term, so what exactly are the odds that they go out there and improve significantly at 2b, 3b, RF, CL and SS? Nope - the window closed last year when they had Piniero, Carp and Wainer pitching lights out and Matt Holliday couldn't catch a fly-ball that hit him in the stones. It closed a little tighter when Moe paid too much for too long on Matt Holliday. It snapped mother****ing shut when he traded Ryan Ludwick for absolutely nothing. |

Antonelli didn't take the job b/c of the relationship between Mozeliak and Luhnow.
