There's a price and a situation for everything.
Plan A was not to trade away Hill. Plan A was not to trade away Jones. But things change and you don't stay wedded to Plan A at any cost. THAT mindset is what would be stupid. |
I AM SO TIRED OF CHRIS JONES NOT PLAYING ON THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
I WANT HIM TO PLAY ON THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS SO THAT WE CAN WIN A SUPER BOWL AGAIN PLEASE REPORT TODAY CHRIS JONES TO THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS WE NEED YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

He can redeem himself but telling his scumbag agents to go fist fk themselves and sign the deal only then can he be redeemed. |
Barring a change of heart, seems like he's really going to hold out until week 8.
And when he finally shows up, how long will it take for him to play anywhere close to his potential? A few weeks? Will he mentally be checked out when he shows up? Will he disrupt team chemistry? Find a trade that helps the Chiefs this year (i.e. gets the Chiefs a starting WR), and the future (a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick) and move on. |
We are going to be thankful he didn’t sign the offer just like with OBJ. Only thing that would have been better would have been to resolve it before the draft.

Do it and be done. I doubt there's a trade out there to be had to be honest, but dude wants to max out his money. That's fine. But it won't happen here so lets pull the bandaid and be done with this. |

Better to wait until week eight, then hold his ass out for two games, per the Chiefs' right, while he "gets into playing shape". Then franchise tag his ass next season at a 120% of $10M '23 number and ship his dumb ass off to Carolina (or equivalent NFC bottom feeder). CJ and the Kuntz brothers ****ed around and found out. |

But it's a hell of alot easier to replace the good solid player like Willie Gay or Justin Reid than it is a Tyreek Hill or Chris Jones. |

His restructuring bonus was 7mm this year. So I believe it'd be more like 120% of 17mm-ish (there are also some small sack incentives and it's not entirely clear how that affects it). That being said, any team that trades for him is going to be giving him a new deal, so his tag value is really only meaningful to the Chiefs in that we have ~12-13mm more flexibility during that FA period if a trade is hard to come by. |
It's clear the Chiefs aren't going to blink so I wouldn't be surprised they are fielding calls. They won't be in a huge hurry but I bet Veach is doing his homework there. I thnk he has played his last down with the Chiefs. He has already waded into burn bridges territory.

That blue hat was a Seahawks hat. That's really not cool. He really needs to get better agents.
I'm a fan of Chris and think he's a great player. I've felt a little sorry for him since he finds himself in the position of being the third best player on the team. A lot of teams would pay him because he's their best player. But when you're the third best player and the other two guys take below market deals because they like showing up to work in the morning, it starts making you look bad. |
