Yeah, and I think that's what you have to look at. We know last year's worst was pretty terrible... as far as needing to be motivated, etc; it's the same discussion just about every year for a lot of teams.

I think this team is more talented, but at the same time, the matchups might be more important this year than previous years since they haven't really proven they can pull games out of their ass.

This team probably doesn't make it to the championship game against Kentucky a couple of years ago, but they probably would have had a better shot at beating them.

If they start really bringing it on defense, they can beat anyone.

I don't mind that at all. You know me.

Bill Self tells JI that Joel Embiid will sit out KU's final 2 regular season games against Texas Tech and at WVU to rest his injured back.

The right decision has been made there. Might as well make it the week after that too.

Nice move.....This team wont get past the Sweet Sixteen without a healthy Embid....
And if Tharpe doesnt pull his head out of his ass....they still might not.....

I kind of agree, even though it might risk him being rusty for the dance. Playing 3 games in 3 days is not something I want to see for someone who has had trouble shaking a lingering problem

KC_Connection 03-03-2014 02:28 PM

Maybe if you make the final of the B12 tournament, you can play him then. 3 games in 3 days less than a week before the tournament starts is not optimum for someone with a persistent back injury, though. They have a great chance right now to rest him for the next 2-3 weeks.

S16 would be considered a successful year with this team... Anything pass that would be over achieving.

Yeah I kinda agree. Without Embiid I'm not entirely certain we'd be a lock to beat a #15 that got hot. We struggled last year to beat WKU in the 1-16 matchup despite Withey's monster game.

LMAO

Are you ever right about anything?

This team will likely be a #1 seed, a #2 is realistic as well. They're the second favorite to win it all per Vegas.

But their ceiling is the S16? Get the **** outta here with that garbage.
