Yeah, and incidentally if Mahomes wins the Superbowl that makes it the best season of any QB in NFL history.

In his first season.

Mahomes has serious potential of being the best QB to play the position. It's a long way to the mountain top of brady, montana, unitas, manning *ew* etc but this kid has it all

If he pulls this off in his first year of starting, they'll start working on the Mahomes wing in Canton

First year of starting & leading a team to a World Championship.

Has that ever been done?

Roethlisberger was the youngest.

What Bill wants to do is make him sit back there, test his patience, process the disguised coverages, make him slide around, navigate the throwing lanes, force him to throw to spots and avoid at all costs those improvisational stretch plays where Bill's guys need to cover for longer than 3 seconds....and hope for a handful of really bad throws.

The problem is that lots of teams have done that. And lost.

That's my "no homer" take, even though it sounds homerish.

I've never seen someone like him. He has the raw physical talent of Rodgers, the bravado of Favre, the will to win of Elway, the nerves of Brady, the preparation of Manning, and he's playing in the perfect system with the perfect coach, like Brees. He's not ANY of those guys yet but he has the potential to be right up there with all of them.

What Andy wants to do is make a big shit sandwich, and make y'all take a bite.

I know Stuttgart. You'll not be happy to know that I follow Bayern. My dad is from Bavaria.

Kurt Warner did it as a first year starter (Warner was drafted in 1993 so he wasn’t young)

Well Tom Brady obviously has done it.

You need to get pressure on him, just like any QB. Contain the pocket and get pressure on him. That's your best chance to give him a tough time.

Matrix 01-19-2019 01:56 PM

Yeah, he was 28. Brady was 24 when he won his first.

Yep. And about the throwing lanes, forget that. He can throw the ball underhanded if need be. He CREATES throwing lanes. It's more about getting him to commit to the throw and try to knock it down.

I don’t see how they will honestly. They don’t have a Chandler Jones or a Willie McGinest etc. Trey Flowers is pretty good, but he’s not Dee Ford or Chris Jones or Justin Houston.

Cover 0 is the best bet in terms of blitzing, but Mahomes has had so much time to learn and prepare for it since we went to New England.
