Is KJ Adams finally becoming a good rebounder?

Last two games have been his only double digit rebounding games in his career.

First career double double today.

as they said, no reason for the player to have his arm swinging back there, as the ball was out in front of him.

Risky move, and it bit him/TCU.

As CBS guys said, if he hits him in the shoulder, it's play on.

bad luck, but correct call.

smithandrew051 01-06-2024 06:54 PM

Here’s the short version:

A reckless player got called for a foul when playing out of control.

Intentional? Maybe, maybe not. Udeh was flailing his arm against his own momentum to create space after stealing the ball. It was an unnecessary movement and Udeh paid the price for it.

It was a clear flagrant. Wouldn't even be a debate if they had called it immediately and it wasn't KU involved.

Yeah it doesn't have to be intentional to be a flagrant 1.

Buehler445 01-06-2024 07:16 PM

Correct or no, after all the bullshit flagrants that the Morris Twins caught, I ain't apologizing to nobody ever about a flagrant that comes the way of KU.

BigRedChief 01-06-2024 08:23 PM

Lots to improve on but, I thought they played a great game overall. Don’t get the passes to teammates that are covered. These wins take some mental toughness to win.

It's just annoying in general. Everyone on this board roars when the chiefs get a call and people complain because you can list a bunch of calls that went against us here and there. It's the same thing here. Yes it probably was technically correct and yes I don't think anyone really thinks it was a foul that should be a foul. But that's the way it goes. No one cares when Graham got called for "tripping" against 'nova diving for a ball which is never called. No one cares when Jackson got two fouls vs Oregon in the first two minutes. No one mentions when we got down in a huge foul disparity to northern Iowa which self said altered his strategy. Shit happens. Never apologize and move along. I'm sure there will be a huge call this year that will alter a game and no one is going to give us sympathy.

smithandrew051 01-06-2024 08:57 PM

I’m just glad that Dickinson had a huge game and Udeh was bad.

Would’ve sucked hearing a bunch of dumb debate about whether or not we should’ve stuck with Udeh. It’s not even a debate but you know that conversation would’ve started.

Well, actually this is my position. You play the game as is not the game you wish you had.

If I was in charge, I would make several changes to basketball.

I don't like flops and I don't particularly like rewarding offensive players for throwing themselves at defensive players in an unnatural movement.

But I sure wouldn't tell players to 'stop initiating' contact.

Alas, for whatever reason Chief Pagan has not yet been put in charge.

Yea, swinging an elbow to create space can hit people in the neck, jaw, face. You take your chances if you do that.

It is amazing how much help the Jayhawks always get at home...it is ridiculous...always helped for wins (more than any other team)...you gotta wonder how much money they put in officials pockets given how much help they get...
