Mahomes' first season as a starter blows away the QB's you listed, in terms of their first season as a starting QB.

Yes Tom Brady won a Super Bowl in his first season as a starter, but he did it in the role of a game manager as that team was led by their defense.

The Refs helped contribute to that Championship big time. Horribly officiated game. I started out rooting for the Steelers, my Dad is from Pittsburgh and he's a life long Steelers fan. By the end of that game I was disgusted with the officiating and started pulling for the Seahawks.

I don’t see how they will honestly. They don’t have a Chandler Jones or a Willie McGinest etc. Trey Flowers is pretty good, but he’s not Dee Ford or Chris Jones or Justin Houston.

Cover 0 is the best bet in terms of blitzing, but Mahomes has had so much time to learn and prepare for it since we went to New England.

He is learning for sure. Ravens threw Cover 0 at him.

Seahawks got ref ****ed in that game like no other before them. Don’t get me wrong, I made a ton of money off it because everyone around me is Seahawks fans. And I lost a bunch leading up to that game, but I made it back tenfold in the super Bowl. But yeah NFL had no problem determining that outcome. They tried in the Seahawks/broncos super bowl too, but the Seahawks weren’t letting. Them determine that outcome like they did for this one.

Did he throw for 50 td's and 5k yards?

On the other hand...

Pats have built the greatest dynasty in football. Their fans have been spoiled with riches other teams will never see. Why on earth would Pats fans want to come and troll a team that just won their first Home Playoff game in 25 years?

Maybe it is insecurity? Nothing last forever. Now you guys are facing a very dangerous, young, hungry team with rabid fans desperate to win at home.

Will your dynasty end tomorrow? :hmmm:

Teams like the Yankees of a long time ago and Celtics of a long time ago had dynasties, but as a Patriots fan, I don't even consider what the Patriots have done a dynasty. It is probably close to impossible to have a dynasty in NFL football nowadays with how the rules are setup. The Patriots have more just like a crazy run of success/competitiveness for a long time that has been led by Brady and BB.

As a Patriots fan, worst case scenario tomorrow is Brady, perhaps Hightower, Gilmore and perhaps Gronk/Edelman get huge injuries that they can't come back from even next season. And Patriots get blown out.

Something like that would create a tough larger than expected rebuilding situation sooner than expected and some of the luster on the franchise(BB) could lesson over the next year or 2.

But a more realistic worst case scenario of like 1 player having an injury that causes them to miss next season and let's say a 38-10 loss, doesn't change that much for the Patriots vs let's say going to the Super Bowl and losing by 3 to 7 points.

Patriots just bring in reinforcements via the draft. Excellent pick situation for this year and a first round pick coming back who missed this past season.

Isaiah Wynn should come back next year and I believe he was picked higher than Sony Michel, who is very good, for a reason.

I believe Patriots defense is "very good" with some holes that for sure Mahomes will really take advantage of if he is really on. With the right moves and health, Patriots are not far off from upgrading the defense. A few key players getting older in secondary and Hightower declining but still some young talent and plenty of picks.

Eventually Patriots run of success will end but right now I actually suspect BB will win a few playoff games without Brady. He may not get a chance to do so until something like the 2022-23 season.

Championships are too hard to predict in football so it is ridiculous to try to do so. One key injury even not to the QB and a teams chances can really dwindle.

Like most teams that win in the modern NFL, they found the right QB. When you couple him with BB, you have a "dynasty" at least in the context of modern football.

He handed off to Jerome Bettis and relied on Dick LeBeau's defense to win as he attempted 5 passes a game.

Exactly. If Mahomes wins the SB this year, it will be the greatest QB performance ever. First year or otherwise.

Random thought but does anyone else wish they held one conference game on Saturday and another on Sunday. Kind of like that format from last week over both being Sunday tbh.

Idk about the conference finals. 2 weeks off after tomorrow seems like long enough to me. When we win tomorrow it’s gonna be a long ass time til SB Sunday.

As if this week wasn't already the longest of my life.

One of the things he said to me - which I still find insane - is that he thought a MLB coach was more important to a team's success than an NFL coach. I've never played professional football and he's a HOFer, but I think this is taking the argument a little too far!

Did Marshall Faulk try to grope you? I heard he's into that kinda stuff.
