Flipside, though, is if the trade doesn't go through ultimately Seattle is left with a seething extensionless Thomas.

Which should drive the price down.

Creates more of a "meet in the middle" solution, which ends up being better for everyone...

I think the 1st round pick is a great deal for both teams.

Odds are they don’t get another Earl Thomas, better odds are that the player they get will suck... but he’s 29 and needs paid. Gotta give a little bit.

Nope. Been made abundantly clear it's not happening for a 1st.

They just said on ESPN we were on the list of teams that he could be dealt to.

Hope we get him let him smash all Denver's receivers would be a wonderful sight
Get it done Veach

They'd never let it get to contract terms before the teams were good on terms of the trade.

The Chiefs could **** them over by saying they'd give him some huge crazy deal then not go thru with the trade. Good luck to Seattle ever getting the deal done if Thomas thinks whatever else is out there.

That we know of. The Chiefs actually haven't said anything and we have no idea if these talking heads are right, even Terez.

O.city 09-26-2018 03:14 PM

And yeah, I'd say with the talk of the Chiefs wanting the price to come down, it won't be for a first rounder.

And I've come around on this more so today. He can play for 3 or 4 more years at a high level hopefully. That's worth it.

So why isn't the deal done then? If they actually want MORE than a 1st rounder you say thanks but no thanks and hang up.

KC may just be playing games right now, wanting to see if Seattle will budge.

But make no mistake, they should not let their pride get in the way of giving up that 1st round choice. We saw the names that have been picked in the late 1st round over the past several years. The vast majority of those guys turn out to not only be worse than ET, but to suck altogether.

I'm pretty sure Veach and co. aren't sitting in their offices thinking "well, we're going to blow these picks anyway so might as well give it to Seattle for Thomas." ****ing quit if that's your attitude.

So you’d rather them sit there and say, “We’re gonna turn that first round pick into Earl Thomas 2.0 anyways, so to hell with giving that up”...?

Cause that’d be just as dumb as saying that they think they’ll blow the pick.

But one is much more likely than the other, and we all know which one.
