That's a bad habit that we don't want to develope. The Steelers had that same problem and it ****ed them in a lot of games.

Agreed. Even when he had guys open short, he flat out missed them.
Part of that was due to being harassed by the Patriots D-line on numerous occasions.
But , in general, he just had a poor game.

My theory right now on ways you can effectively defend the Chiefs are this.

1) Be the Patriots, coached by Bill Belichick with an elite secondary, dropping 8 into coverage and forcing Mahomes to throw in tight windows often.

2) 49ers/Chargers cover 3/6 scheme with an elite front 4 that can get home on their own often.

But even still, neither of these two defensive strategies have ever worked for a full 4 quarters. We just have to be better about taking what they give underneath early on to set everything else up...

I'm convinced of this. That doesn't mean he is never going to lose a game, just that we are always going to be in the game, have a chance to win.
