I NEVER eat before I workout. And outside of my protein shake 3 days a week, I don't eat when I'm done either. I think hydration, and nutrition pre workout is a great way for people to make excuses on why they can't do more.

I was told by a trainer that ideally you wanna eat w/in the first 45 mins of being awake, wouldn't a protein shake be an ideal 'meal on the run'

please elaborate here, i'm sure i'm overlooking something.

I don't know. I just know what I've always done, and the days I've eaten before I went, it positively did not provide me with anything other than a mental edge. No physical benefit from it at all. I've quit doing it all together and I have some pretty killer days in the gym.

Haha. I went nuts on Saturday night. We were drinking late night with friends (it was a whiskey night). We started talking about working out and shit. I started doing pushups, then my wife told me I was a pussy and was doing them wrong. She rocked out like 25. Then I ended up repping 50 pushups at 2am then getting up, picking my friend up and pressing him, then trying to throw him off the porch.

My friend is now convinced that I'm on steroids. ROFL

I had to apologize profusely the next morning.

LMAO I'm glad you posted that. I read a couple of the posts I made after that workout and felt like a fool. We all have those moments every once in a while I s'pose.
