Now, here's where I'll ask for some input. What I did next was arms and legs day. I did three sets of 14 leg presses, three sets of leg extensions, three sets of curls, two sets of iso curls, tricep pull downs (rope), and several abdominal core excercises with a medicine ball. So, i get that some of that stuff is probably "so 20 years ago" as far as lifting goes. What else should I be doing? Tomorrow will be back and chest day and more abs and cardio. I'm not trying to get huge. just stay fit, and maybe become a bit more fit. Diet is in check. Thanks for input.

Would not suggest doing arms the day before doing chest and back. In fact, I would probably drop the isolation movements for arms altogether and replace them with shoulder work.

I don't know how you're doing cardio before weight training. I'd be wiped out.

I've got pretty good endurance. Used to be a triathlon racer. It's funny, cuz I was thinking the exact opposite about what you said you do. If I did weights first, there is no way I could do cardio at all. I'd be all noodly. Today, after cardio, I was just real sweaty. But after the weights, I was almost nauseated tired. I gotta say though, having done the weight training really for the first time in several years, it felt great.

I think I'm going to try the row machine today. I've been sticking to cycling lately. You liking the row machine?

Completely disagree with this.

The row machine is way better than the elliptical and bike. 14 minutes of it wore me out. I was shooting for 15 but my daughter was throwing a fit in daycare.

What does someone who spends 20+ minutes doing set after set at the standing cable station think they are accomplishing with pressdowns, curls, crossovers?

Did assisted pull ups last night with my trainer. Used resistance bands. Holy shit, what a feeling to have your chin above that bar! I can't wait until I'm able to do it without help!

I personally wouldn't focus on being able to do a chin-up as a goal that should really matter. Most women simply cannot do them.....ever. And while it's maybe a long term goal, is not something you really should worry about right now. No offense, but you are a long way from being able to do that so focus on a more realistic short term goal for now.

Like? I'm already losing weight, setting PRs all the time, building muscle. All of that is going just fine. Just what do you recommend I focus on as ANOTHER short term goal?
