Even with Romo calling the Hill and Mecole runs "trick plays", the WR coming across has been in the playbook and used frequently since Mahomes became starter. It's not new and its not a trick play/ |

I mean, it’s been obvious that we are running the ball better off the edges with Clyde and the jet sweeps, yet they seem to be rarely used. We kept running inside zone plays behind Wylie to the right last night and seemingly never behind Osemele to the left, which was odd to me too. Perhaps Andy is just wanting to get them a bunch of game reps to work on the blocking aspect, letting Clyde read those blocks too. |
My plan to stop the Chiefs:
Rush 2 & drop 9 into coverage. Chiefs have no answers. OL can’t block well enough to get a running game working. Offense runs the ball on 1st & 2nd down. Throw a check down pass to a RB on any 3rd down. Use the whole play clock to eat up time. Keep the chains moving & the clock running. Also it would help if the refs cooperated by not blowing a play dead when we sack the QB. & hold onto Mahomes interceptions he throws. Win |

Against Houston and Baltimore, Watkins for 7+ yards seemed automatic. |

Also, remember the critical personal foul we got in that game for brushing Brady's helmet? Maybe Fox can run a story about that. 4321 |

It's nice that we can get by with random castoffs at guard, center, guard but it does show from time to time. I thought we moved the ball well to start but we kept kicking FG's and then the Watkins fumble just kept us from getting to another gear. Happy that the defense got to win one for us and that's fine. It's early in the year, we don't need to peak yet. Just keep winning. |

Pretty impressive really that Belicheck kept it that close all things considered. Players are such creatures of habit, this had to throw the whole thing out of whack for them.
I'm glad Chiefs came out with the win. I think the Pats end up being the team to come to KC for the AFC champ game. |
It looked like the Chiefs weren't really there mentally. They aren't robots and this isn't a video game. I have to believe the thought of Covid-19 was on their minds and a distraction.
As others have said, please get rid of the second down delayed handoff. It doesn't seem to work and even I can see it coming from halfway across the city. Offensive line didn't protect well and the defensive line had trouble getting pressure. If they had put the first two possessions into the end zone to make it 14-3, I think the rest of the game would have played out very differently. Mahomes did look like he was pressing; got lucky two passes weren't picked off. |
