I only say this because of what has occurred over the past week at the University and with his football players' protests leading to a presidents removal. The ship is sinking and if there was a time to GTFO, now's that time and he can use the illness card. Why else would you release the worst possible news your athletic fanbase wants to hear, while the school itself has this black eye painted over their univ? Talk about kicking the school while it's down. This can't just be a coincidence that this is all happening at the same time. I dont think Pinkel wants to deal w/ that crap. Who can blame the guy?

what kind of stupid are you?

It was a very good win, and it's very clear the kids really like him.

Such a powerful thing to see. Anyone who doubted Pinkel's decision to back his players should watch the post game stuff again and re-think that position.

yep. It was very emotional and powerful.

It's a week full of people having "no other choice." Not that it's bad, or wrong, but what else could they do?

You probably need to ask yourself that...who would want to stick around that shit show after it's become politically ****ed. Diagnosed in May, and announces this week? Seriously, dude...add it up and stop being an idiot.

He announced this week because he wanted to control the announcement.

The info was about to leak, regarding his illness (I got into with him telling Rhoads in May that this was his last year).

The news about his cancer was about to leak. He did the right thing getting out in front of it.

It was amazing. They let the scene after the game play out with no talk too. It was a great scene.

Yes, they did a really good job with that.

There's a lot to be said for minimalism in sports telecasts.

In our section tonight, there was a giant "beat the Mormons" chant for a large part of the 4th quarter. Of course everybody in Mizzou colors was laughing it up and joining in on the fun. I thought the whole religious discrimination thing was kind of ironic.

Wearing a BYU shirt and hat, I also heard my fair share of insults leaving the stadium. I hate sore winners.

Probably the same fans that wanted Pinkel to pull the scholarships from half the team and literally raze the program.

Meh, you're probably right. I shouldn't paint with a broad brush. It was an ugly ass game to take your family to in the first place if you're a BYU fan.
