Just read this from a blog, exactly what I'm saying:
"Following in the footsteps of the shortstop revolution of the late '90s, second base is a position increasingly populated by middle-of-the-lineup hitters. Most middle infielders are expected to supply consistent offense as well as solid defense, and second basemen are no longer just shortstops with weak arms." Hamas, wake up, it isn't 1950 anymore... |

http://www.baseball-reference.com/bu...Second_baseman Maybe the most respected baseball site out there: The only fielding ability that is not really required for second basemen is a strong throwing arm. Because the second baseman's position is closer to first base than the shortstop's or third baseman's, he is not required to have as strong an arm as the other infielders. |

The Cardinals are a surprise...that's for sure...but they aren't going to go anywhere...they will probably end up falling flat on their faces...you can only play above your ability for so long... Now the Cubs, talk about a well built team...if Harden stays healthy this may be the best team from 1 to 25 in the last decade. |

I know that. I never once said that. I said, AND I CONTINUE TO SAY, in today's game...as of 2008...the majority of 2nd baseman have strong throwing arms... Do they necessarily need to have a strong arm? No. Duh. But, AGAIN, like I said...with the recent trend of power hitting 2nd baseman...most of them possess strong arms...most of them were 3rd baseman or SS in high school/minor leagues. And I'm not going to list a bunch of guys and say they have strong arms...I don't pull shit out of my ass like you...you have no idea who had a good arm out of that list and who didn't...you just try and look way smarter than you really are...for god's sake you didn't even know Soriano had a good arm in the OF...and he is one of the best out there. |

Brian Anderson, Jesse Todd, Colby Rasmus. Jaime Garcia, Chris Perez. Clayton Mortenson, Jason Motte. All will contribute heavily to the major league club next year. This isn't football. Rebuilding means that your farm system is being set up to supplant the big leaguers. |
