My point is, I have no idea how the guy is going to project after one season - and neither does anyone else.

He projects better than ANYONE in the draft. He's got a year of experience, and he was damn good at that.

The #55 isn't high enough, if it was #35 Tony would be gone.

I think the fact that he came in as a rookie, got hurt, missed part of training camp, and was able to transition from playing guard in college to LT in the NFL speaks volumes about his ceiling in this league.

Nowhere to go but up for this guy barring injury or whatever.

I have always loved the fact that KC was the only team in the NFL whose best WR is a TE. I don't like that the new regime recognizes this as something that needs to change.
I think I'm going to miss Carl & Herm.

I'm a Bronco and a guest on this board, in case you didn't know. When I say I liked Carl & Herm right where they were I mean it.

It seems both our new regimes are going to ship off our best players. At least ours is only a TE. :D

KC is considering a trade on their own terms. McKid had to trade because he ****ed up. Advantage KC.

From an outsider's POV although Tony may be KC's favorite player he is not their best player.
He is an aging TE. If KC could turn Tony into a quality young player through the draft that would be the best thing he could do for them at this point. There should be no sacred cows for a new GM coming into a losing program. IMHO.

I totally agree. It's almost a move you'd expect on Madden.

He's easily the best player on the team. Not the most valuable by a long shot, but without question the best.

Sadly a TE coming toward the end of his career and the punter may just be our best players. Hopefully this changes soon, at least the culture seems to be changing.

I'll bite. From an outsiders POV, who is the Chiefs best player?

And I am not in favor of keeping TG or letting him go. Either way I am fine with it.

I'm not speaking negatively of TG. Let me rephrase to say 'more valuable' instead of 'best' player.

IMO on a team that is rebuilding any young quality starter who can contribute to the reshaping of the team over the next 3-5 years is the most valuable kind of player.

So a guy like Alberts is a better player for KC today. Dorsey if he pans out. Quality starters you get in the upcoming draft.

Buehler445 04-14-2009 12:47 PM

His name is Albert. But you have a good point. Along your lines of thinking he is probably the MVP at this point.
