And then there's King Dunlap, too, another Reid player.

My post was a joke.

I don't believe that Albert is going to b traded, and I donKt believe that we are signing a vet replacement for Winston.
Further, I don't believe we are essentially drafting his replacement with first pick in the draft.

Guy excels as a run blocker, meh as a pass blocker. Yeah the few sacks last year, but he was on skates alot.

1. OT Jon Runyan, 2000: This was Reid's second big personnel move, after he drafted Donovan McNabb in 1999. Reid wanted another big, aggressive tackle to line up opposite All-Pro Tra Thomas and when Runyan's contract with the Tennessee Titans expired, Reid quickly made him an offer he couldn't refuse. It was money well spent as Runyan and Thomas became the real foundation of the Eagles teams that had those remarkable playoff runs. For the first time since Dick Vermeil was coach and Pro Bowlers Jerry Sisemore and Stan Walters lined up at tackle, the Eagles had bookend blockers who could protect the quarterback and open holes for the running backs.

I think they might be considering Jeff Allen to RT?

I was warming up to milliner but I guess that's out.

Yea, I was also.

But our current OL is paper thin. ***** took us into last season with only our two draft picks basically as viable back-ups and that's what ended up happening. So for Dorsey/Reid to let go of a starter on that line really speaks volumes of his play and their plan.

Our current OL:
76 Albert, Branden T 6-5 316 28 5 Virginia
71 Allen, Jeff OL 6-5 315 23 R Illinois
73 Asamoah, Jon OL 6-4 305 24 3 Illinois
61 Hudson, Rodney C 6-2 299 23 2 Florida State
79 Stephenson, Donald OL 6-6 312 24 R Oklahoma

And then we got these guys......
60 Baker, Steven T 6-8 310 24 1 East Carolina
75 Durand, Ryan G 6-5 301 27 2 Syracuse
66 Hochstein, Russ G 6-4 305 10 Nebraska
64 Mattison, Bryan C 6-3 310 2 Iowa
77 Patterson, Luke OL 6-4 295 25 1 Texas A&M
67 Ranglin, Rich OL 6-2 315 28 1 Central Connecticut St
68 Waldron, Dustin* T 6-5 310 R Portland State
*Practice Squad Player

If they are targeting a free agent LG, Allen to RT would make some sense.

Neither do I on either count. I was just speaking in abstracts.

Why not? If he is hurt then they have to release him. Signing a veteran to replace him makes sense. I personally love how active they have been with the roster this far. Shake it up and if your worth shows on film then you might get a roster spot. If not...take a hike!

mcaj22 03-06-2013 08:06 PM

so for the last two months it was

"Brandon Albert back injury blah blah blah"

and this whole ****ing time behind closed doors it was Eric Winston with the injury concerns LOL ****ing idiot media

Memories of Jordan Black make me think that's not always the case.

If we are really only saving $700K by cutting him then you would have to think it's an injury or that they found out he was a serious locker room cancer. Dramatic comments aside, I can't imagine they would cut a guy like Winston to save $700K without a reason. I guess they could do it to manufacture a need at tackle but I would like to give these guys the benefit of the doubt on that, if only for my own sanity.
