Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light!

- Dylan Thomas

Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place, and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward!
-Rocky Balboa

I don't have the words right now, so I stole some words from other people.

We love you HayWire.

Rausch 10-22-2022 10:27 AM

What everyone else said.

And take the time you need to get your mind right. Decide that you're going to beat this and do what's necessary to stack the percentages in your favor. Read up on what' you've got and start adding vitamins or foods or activities that help beat the bastard.

A lot of people did small things that slowly start stacking the odds against good health. Now's a great time to find one bad thing and eliminate it. Find a good thing and add it. Be positive and proactive.

And if there's a bad day that happens come on here and kick someone around. It's gonna' happen anyway and if not a constructive it's a safe outlet.

I've got cancer in my liver plus liver disease.

They can try and get one but the other will get me instead.
The wife and I had a good cry and have came to a decision...no more docs or specialist.

It is what it is......

I'm gonna smile everyday, I will love as hard as I can, and I will enjoy having my feet underneath me.

I hope this isn't my leaving forever thread.

Thanks CP,

I haven't been here very long. I don't know you at all. This brought me to tears. Praying for you and your family.

I don’t know him at all and i feel sick.

Haywire may your remaining time be filled with as much laughter, joy and Chiefs kicking ass to watch possible. Even though most of us(thankfully) will never have to deal with a diagnosis such as yours none of us are truly long for this world.

I can tell you have touched the community here deeply. You have nothing but my admiration and respect. I’m so sorry you must deal with this.

Thank you man. I've tried to keep a good attitude as much as I can. Some days I still get pissy but yelling at the clouds ain't going to change anything.

We've added vitamins some time back. Between the vitamins and all the shit the docs prescribed I take a small pharmacy of pills several times a day.

I plan on kicking people around once I am made a super mod. You bitches better watch out.

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis, HayWire. At least sounds like you're handling the best way to you can and making the most of the time you have left. **** cancer!!

Out of curiosity...from you (and others who have also battled), what symptoms did you start having that eventually forced your hand into getting check out by a doctor?
