I heard that the Bills’ pass rush was bottom third after Miller went down.

KC’s pass rush win rate is 15th for the season. But they’ve been on an uptick lately. Wonder where they rank over the last several weeks.

The defense might be good, but it isn’t because of him. It’s good despite him.

If there ever was a dude absolutely begging to get cooked next week it’s him

It really defies logic.

No Von Miller really made a difference for the Bills pass rush though. It was never the same without him. That secondary has also been really bad, so Burrow was able to get rid of the ball quick. The Bills have been shredded on the ground too.

So maybe that explains it.

Our pass rush HAS to get to Burrow this time. Zero excuse not to. That line wasn’t great before the injuries, and is a bunch of JAGs now. I think you can get by for a game with that line, but it can’t be sustainable.

Otherwise, why would any team ever invest in the OL if you can just scheme protection like this?

They aren't getting to Burrow because he keeps releasing the ball in less than 2 seconds. Key to pressuring him is to play tight man coverage on their receivers so he can hold the ball a second longer. It's what the ravens did so succesfully. We have the corners to do it. To beat the bungholes you have to pressure Burrow. These cucks don't turn the ball over so you have to at least pressure them enough to give yourself a chance.

Man **** these guys. Why can’t Mahomes be 100% for this one **** **** ****. These dudes are arrogant and already think they’ve won. Wouldn’t be surprised if they’re overlooking the Chiefs given their 3-0 record against us. They deserve a beat down.

Fronti3r 01-22-2023 09:30 PM

The Chiefs have one thing left to do: just go out there and let your nuts hang!

duncan_idaho 01-22-2023 09:33 PM

They've got the right to talk trash right now. 3 straight, including the one that mattered the most.

KC is going to have to play clean and have a pretty close to healthy Mahomes to break the streak.

Re-watching the previous matchup... things that stand out:

1. The Chiefs' O showed some nice counters to what the Bengals had done to them in the second half. Good balance, consistently finding success. Sans the turnover to Kelce, the offense was good (Touchdown, touchdown, missed FG).

2. The defense was noticeably better with Gay in the game vs. Darius Harris. Hopefully Spagnuolo notices that when they're prepping this week.

3. The Bengals' OL played REALLY well in this game. Some of it is Burrow getting the ball out quickly, but the right side of the line held up well against the Chiefs.

4. Semaje Perrine is a beast. I think he gives them more than Mixon, honestly.

5. Carlos Dunlap played a really good game for KC in this one.

6. Burrow gets it out so quickly. Have to take approaches that focus on that. Press the WRs. Get hands up on the DL. Spy Burrow with Gay and have him get in passing lanes. Etc. Mix it up, but come in planning to have to counter that quick game.

duncan_idaho 01-22-2023 09:35 PM

Oh, and...

7. Most of the Chiefs' operation/success on offense in the 2nd half was Mahomes playing from within the pocket and operating in the flow of the offense. Not much freelancing/scrambling. I find that encouraging considering his mobility is likely to be less than usual

poolboy 01-22-2023 09:41 PM

I def hope that the Zebras stay out of the jump balls more

Pushead2 01-22-2023 09:59 PM

I'm just embracing myself for the bullshit "Burrow chucks up a duck to Chase" and a horseshit PI call is made because the "WR is trying to come back for the ball".

Am I remembering this wrong or did the Bengals have a ton of success attacking the deep middle of the field?

Thornhill and Reid have played pretty well lately, so hopefully we have better success defending that.

I do remember McDuffie holding up really well in coverage on the outside.

BigRock 01-22-2023 10:04 PM

They have to win. Because having 5 straight AFC Championship games at home and only winning 2 of them would be a nightmare I'm not prepared for.

The biggest thing that stood out for the Bengals offensively was Semaje Perrine just playing a great game. He had 150 APY and was a nightmare on 3rd downs.

Lael Collins played a really nice game for the Bengals on the right side, and Jonah Williams played well, too. Will be critical to see how that looks in this one.

At this point in the season, I would take the Chiefs' DL group over the Bills.
