Today? No, he's only been a GM for like 5-6 years. He's well on his ****ing way there though dumabss.

The point is that he's the best in the business today.

God damn you're stupid.

Well, some of these other guys have a much longer track record whereas Veach hasn't had to go thru a down period yet (hopefully he won't but that would be pretty difficult I'd imagine).

Atleast that's how I'd process it.

But keep going!

This is really all that needs to be said. This is what puts Veach in a league of his own. He's the only one who has figured it out.

And since that particular quote was about Baalke, let me also point out that he didn't just draft Walker over Hutchinson with the #1 overall pick....

Veach arguably got the better pass rusher at 30 LMAO

And Trent McDuffie would've probably been a better pick at #1 overall too ROFL

I think when it's all said and done he very well could be regarded that way if he remembers the lessons he learned early in his GMing career. While Reid was already established as one of the upper tier coaches of this era and Mahomes hit the ground running as soon as he got the chance, Veach didn't have the same immediate success. He had a pretty abysmal 2018 off season all things considered and learned a lot of harsh lessons from it.

Yeah, I do think he gets dinged for that. He's been nails since, but that was a pretty rough patch.

Imagine if you have a different GM and they don't trade up for McDuffie, and the Bills end up with him instead.

All it takes are a couple of differences like that, and we're in a totally different position today.

It's an absolute slap in the face to pretend there are more than 2-3 guys that could achieve what Veach has here, even with Pat and Andy.

Chiefs don't win the Bengals championship game without Brett Veach and his incredible draft class/FA moves.

Eh, I disagree a bit there. He made some pretty questionable moves in 2019 and 2020 as well, although with hindsight we can say most of them paid off. 2021 was the first offseason I believe he truly evolved into the top tier GM he is now.

All intents and purposes Veach is in an arms race with Roseman besides talent there's also prestige and how the Chiefs FO gets slighted by mentioning how Philly's staff is by far the best in the league.

Because people like to pretend that the Eagles haven't had it easier with a QB on a rookie deal and multiple 1st round picks 2 years in a row. Not to mention playing in the garbage NFC.

Sassy Squatch 09-28-2023 11:13 AM

LMAO Folks want to give Veach shit about his eye for WR talent, Roseman took Reagor over Jefferson and Arcega-Whiteside over Metcalf.

What's worse is they think it means he will never be able to find a WR.

Roseman did that then proceeded to draft DeVonta Smith and trade for A.J. Brown.

All it proves is that those guys are human.

Questionable moves to whom? If they paid off.....I mean wouldn't that make them good moves?

When they played the Bengals in the Championship game, Sneed got hurt in the first series. McDuffie proceeded to have an excellent tackle for 1 yard on a screen to Chase, had a pass defended that's should have been a pick and then defended a pass that was going to be a first down but he improvised and jumped in the throwing lane.

They targeted McDuffie only 2 more times the entire game. Imagine if that was Elam there instead of McDuffie?

Yeah..
