Again, Mahomes starts getting high ens money next year. This is his last year being cheap. That's why it's working with Chris at the moment.

Speaking of, Chris is a 10 sack average per year player minus 2 years of his long career. Here's the last 5 years of Chris's career:

5.5 sacks~on pace for 10 sacks
15.5 sacks
9 sacks
7.5 sacks
9 sacks

He's a 9-10 sack player. That isn't worth $30 million. People think he's the 2022 player which was clearly the outlier. And he's 30 next year. He's never gonna justify that contract.

Sign Sneed for 2/3 of the money Chris wants, trade Chris for another early pick and a mid rd pick and use those assets to get your 1st rd WR.

If Jones goes why pour money $$$ into a defense that most likely won't be elite?

Just use McDuffie as your #1 and put the dollars into the offense.


Difference between a 8th overall and 14th overall D is not worth the squeeze.

Why are you so hellbent on trying to get someone to make an absolute guarantee?

Is it because you're always wrong?

There are no guarantees, and we can only speculate. Judging by Jones' demands this year, it seems unlikely he's back. Maybe he fires his dumbass agents and works a deal with the team. It's possible. I wouldn't hold my breath.

I think you can get Sneed and a good WR in FA for the money Chris wants. Maybe a Mike Evans, maybe Michael Pittman? Maybe Marquise Brown?

The difference here is the draft picks. I think Chris could get us a pick that we can use to get one of these shiny 1st rd WR's with.

C'mon man. If we signed Chris to big money, let Sneed go you'd be pissed bc we wouldn't have much to spend in FA and we wouldn't be able to move up for a 1st rd WR bc we have no draft picks.

He's not yet 30.

He is very much on pace as he likely gets another pro bowl and a good chance at leading a top KC defense to its 4th SB overall.

But setting all that aside, he is an elite difference maker and very few other players on the roster are.

He leaves and this defense has very little chance at being top 5 next year, most likely drops to 8-12.

So I am good with moving on with Jones AND Sneed if Jones goes- if we decide to go back to just killing people on offense. Keep the defense young and dirt cheap and just give Mahomes 3 top weapons and he goes nuclear.
You might want to let PFR know about those stats of his. They are well aware of that and still have his current HOF score as 43.93.
