Jon Baldwin > Michael Floyd

chop 04-26-2012 07:20 PM

The guys on Sirius just said that Floyd compares to an in-shape Dwayne Bowe.

O.city 04-26-2012 07:20 PM

Like Doug Stewart just said on Twitter, this is like a 7 footer in the NBA. You can't teach size and athleticism like Poe has.

Get him around Tamba and the defensive guys, Have Romeo work his ass over and lets dominate.

whoman69 04-26-2012 07:20 PM

That kind of surprised me. They're a team that is going to have a lot of weapons, but not much surrounding them.

scho63 04-26-2012 07:20 PM

Mayock said "he's a little tight in his hips" talking about Floyd. What the hell does he have a fetish about hips? 32nd time in this draft

Al Bundy 04-26-2012 07:20 PM

The Chiefs got a better player than the Bucs did.

Demonpenz 04-26-2012 07:21 PM

Poe pick sucks

the Talking Can 04-26-2012 07:21 PM

at least i was right that pioli would never draft a guard at #11

well, it is up to you Romeo...this pick is all on you

Setsuna 04-26-2012 07:21 PM

STL will get Decastro or Brockers.

The good thing about picking outside of the top 10 it'll cost less to cut Poe in 3 years.

Think we can shed that perception,

It was pretty funny that within seconds of Mayock saying that Pioli is risk-aversive, they announce we took the guy with the lowest floor of the expected R1 picks.

SPchief 04-26-2012 07:25 PM

They didn't take a commercial for the 1st hour, so now they're going to take one every pick

High risk, high reward with Poe. We are picking luxury wise, taking a huge risk IMO but it is a position of need.

O.city 04-26-2012 07:26 PM

Apparently Poe played every down last year at Memphis on defense.

TimeForWasp 04-26-2012 07:26 PM

I think Poe will be a pleasant surprise, especially how down on him all of you are. I think Pioli may have gotten a little too greedy , wanting too much for the pick and was stuck making a last second pick. The eagles probably kept him on the phone , working a trade with Seattle at the same time then backed out on us in the last second.

QBs are risky. Missing on a QB in the first would set the franchise back 3-4 years. However, an honorable mention 4th-team All-Conference USA player is a worthwhile investment.

stevenidol 04-26-2012 07:27 PM

I wish people would post who they would have taken when they shit on the Poe pick.

I don't think it's a terrible pick but I wanted Hightower over anyone else that was available.

Not on this team.

If you draft young QB's but never let them play what difference does it make?...

OK, after reading around a bit, I think I'm caught up on why people are unhappy about picking Poe.

Is there any good plausible reason (other than "he can work out, but is not good in a game") why Poe failed to dominate in CUSA?

The Franchise 04-26-2012 07:27 PM

Sam Bradford is pissed.

Setsuna 04-26-2012 07:28 PM

Called Brockers! Where's my rep!?

Chiefnj2 04-26-2012 07:28 PM

Within 48 hours 80% of Chief fans will rationalize the pick. KCChiefs will post some clips of Poe getting a sack against Chattanooga and everyone will be happy.

Sannyasi 04-26-2012 07:28 PM

No, you guys are right though, lets draft a guard so we can go into the '12-'13 season with Kelly ****ing Gregg as our nose tackle. I'm sure he'll plug some holes with his rascal scooter.

Beef Supreme 04-26-2012 07:28 PM

Boom or bust. This pick actually follows a pattern that Pioli seems to have started, pick the physical freaks and count on coaching them up. Baldwin and Bailey from last years draft come to mind.

Hope this kid isn't as lazy as a lot of people think.

David. 04-26-2012 07:28 PM

I hope it works out with Poe... high risk, high reward indeed. I guess the saving grace will be that Poe will be playing one position only and he will be coached by a tremendous DL coach.

Memphis sucked major donkey dick last year and defensive lineman are generally unmotivated ****ers anyways.

While I don't agree with your opinion, I will fight to the death for your ability to express it.

DeCastro would have made us as much as an offensive power as a team can be with Cassel at QB.

Instead we threw away the pick on Vernon Gholston part 2.
