If Brouwer was the roster player they got in return, fine, but Copley is just a lottery ticket as a goalie and with him, Husso, and Binnington competing for playing time in the AHL, that will only stunt all 3 in terms of development.

I know this will sound really homerish, but is this really the best the East has to offer?

Every Eastern playoff game I've watched this year has led to me coming away absolutely certain that any team in the conference apart from the Caps would get waxed by the top 6 in the West and obviously we saw what happened with the Caps.

Watch the Eastern rep get to the Cup finals and sweep it. And I'll acknowledge a bias, but I just have not been impressed by the East. It seems that each of these games are just an exercise in sucking a little less than your opponent. Poor puck movement, intermittent effort, backup goalies kicking ass. I mean c'mon, the Lightning are without their TWO best players and they're just marching bravely forward - are we really to believe that they're just that damn good? No way; the whole conference just seems weak as shit.
