This feels like a 24-7 type half of play. The 16-7 is disappointing, but at least the Saints didn't get an extra possession in 1st half, while Chiefs may in the 2nd. Just need to put one in EZ on first drive in 3rd

Mahomes on pace for 300+ yards passing
|
Who was that gigantic guy on the pregame show? I never saw his name. He made Jason Kelce look like Dante hall.

Pretty sure it was against the Texans. |
What can Pat do to un**** himself with the pocket?
He’s never struck me as someone particularly scared of contact. Not sure why he can’t chill out more back there. |
Stalling at the end is more indicative of time than red zone struggles.
With no timeouts, the Saints only have to defend part of the field and the endzone. They know we can’t run or attack the middle of the field. |

We outgained them by over 160 yards that half; it really should be a blowout right now

Glad to see Juju getting some action. He’s great at finding soft spots in zone.
|
Nice half ZERO turnovers. Moved the ball. Nice clock management. Only one defensive breakdown. Stopping the run. Let's go!!!!!
|
Players are getting open. Pat's not seeing them, continues to leave the pocket when he doesn't need to and that's causing him not to process the plays well. He needs to play the game at a slower pace. Trust your line, have patience, scope the length of the field. It's all there for the taking. He is not seeing the field well. It's maddening how this continues.

After Q2:
First Downs - Chiefs: 15, Saints: 5 Third/Fourth Down Efficiency - Chiefs: 4 for 8, Saints: 2 for 5 Total Plays - Chiefs: 44, Saints: 22 Total Yards - Chiefs: 277, Saints: 112 Yards Per Play - Chiefs: 6.3, Saints: 5.1 Yards Per Pass - Chiefs: 7.5, Saints: 6.1 Yards Per Rush - Chiefs: 4.2, Saints: 3.4 Penalties - Chiefs: 3 for 25, Saints: 2 for 15 Turnovers - Chiefs: 0, Saints: 1 Time of Possession - Chiefs: 19.29, Saints: 10:31 SCORE - Chiefs: 16, Saints: 7 Saints have 69 yards on 21 plays (3.3 ypp) and the one bomb for the TD for the rest. Keep them locked down vs the run and start getting after Carr in the second half. Let's come out in the second half and get 7 to put some distance between us and New Orleans. P.S. Royals up 4-1 in the start of the 7th. |
Saints have a good defense. Chief fans should be pleased with that half.
Clean up the penalties, keep ball security priority no. 1. We got this |

Nearly 300 yards of offense

Seems simple enough |

And then as his career has gone on it seems like the game has sped up for him. Not sure why but it’s bizarre. |

Offense looks like a couple years ago. Balanced. A bunch of Travis and a mix of whoever is open play 2 play. Excited watching this.. could have put up more points

The whole league is playing 2 and 3 deep now. |
Wow. Kareem is back and Fortson is back and now we get Chris Berman as well? Did I pass through a wormhole?

Mahomes and Worthy need to get a sense of rhythm....

Come out and hang 7 on the Saints. |
Good Lord just listen to Belichik hating on KC
Give him an absolute who's who of defensive talent, with a micro-managing QB |

If we had Rice and Hollywood this would be a blowout win

And 16 points. It's not freaking out to say if someone saw those stats at halftime, they'd guess the Chiefs had 21+ points, if not 30 by now.... I also think they're comfortably leading unless Carr just goes off in the 2nd half, which I'm not expecting at all to happen. |
Spags lives rent-free in Carr's head.

He definitely is bailing the pocket at times but that's kind of always been his style. |

Pretty pleased with how the offense looked in the first half. Need to convert in the redzone but overall they moved the ball well on a good defense.

Go get 7 Chiefs

It wasn’t even the WR’s that were the problem.
Jawaan Penalty and the horrific play call Steel pitch to Worthy ruined 2 drives |
Offense in a decent groove considering that half of the playmakers werent on the roster during the preseason. Lol

It’s the other two. Of course one was a TD, stolen away by Trash Taylor. |

The AFC is actively refusing to step up and challenge KC... |
I think that LT giving up pressure on every play is giving Pat the yips.
|
WE DIDN'T GIVE UP A TOUCHDOWN ON THE FIRST DRIVE!!!

that was actually one of the better 1st halfs this season, probably the best.
JuJu 5 catches 67 yards. 200 yards for Mahomes, Kelce 8 catches. Double all of that for the next half! |
Shutting down Kamara is the key.

Carr is easily the worst QB the Chiefs have faced so far this season.

There’s a way to do both that Pat needs to figure out. |
Do NOT like Steele returning kicks.

Hunt is the thicker better picker-upper...
|
Steele makes me more nervous than Hardman does when touching the ball

Came out too conservative with a chance to step on their throats
|
Hunt just tearing them up
|
Is it that Pat isn't seeing the field or that he's protecting the ball and not trusting the protection from the LT
|
Run run run first down

Wear 'em down.

Great job OL and Kareem in short yardage

3 running plays. First down
|
Deep shot now.

That little jump cut to get through was something we really missed
