This feels like a 24-7 type half of play. The 16-7 is disappointing, but at least the Saints didn't get an extra possession in 1st half, while Chiefs may in the 2nd. Just need to put one in EZ on first drive in 3rd

RunKC 10-07-2024 07:45 PM

Mahomes on pace for 300+ yards passing

Rain Man 10-07-2024 07:45 PM

Who was that gigantic guy on the pregame show? I never saw his name. He made Jason Kelce look like Dante hall.

Pretty sure it was against the Texans.

comochiefsfan 10-07-2024 07:46 PM

What can Pat do to un**** himself with the pocket?

He’s never struck me as someone particularly scared of contact.

Not sure why he can’t chill out more back there.

smithandrew051 10-07-2024 07:46 PM

Stalling at the end is more indicative of time than red zone struggles.

With no timeouts, the Saints only have to defend part of the field and the endzone.

They know we can’t run or attack the middle of the field.

Glad to see Juju getting some action. He’s great at finding soft spots in zone.

Nice half ZERO turnovers. Moved the ball. Nice clock management. Only one defensive breakdown. Stopping the run. Let's go!!!!!

Chieftain 10-07-2024 07:47 PM

Players are getting open. Pat's not seeing them, continues to leave the pocket when he doesn't need to and that's causing him not to process the plays well. He needs to play the game at a slower pace. Trust your line, have patience, scope the length of the field. It's all there for the taking. He is not seeing the field well. It's maddening how this continues.

After Q2:

First Downs - Chiefs: 15, Saints: 5
Third/Fourth Down Efficiency - Chiefs: 4 for 8, Saints: 2 for 5
Total Plays - Chiefs: 44, Saints: 22
Total Yards - Chiefs: 277, Saints: 112
Yards Per Play - Chiefs: 6.3, Saints: 5.1
Yards Per Pass - Chiefs: 7.5, Saints: 6.1
Yards Per Rush - Chiefs: 4.2, Saints: 3.4
Penalties - Chiefs: 3 for 25, Saints: 2 for 15
Turnovers - Chiefs: 0, Saints: 1
Time of Possession - Chiefs: 19.29, Saints: 10:31

SCORE - Chiefs: 16, Saints: 7

Saints have 69 yards on 21 plays (3.3 ypp) and the one bomb for the TD for the rest. Keep them locked down vs the run and start getting after Carr in the second half.

Let's come out in the second half and get 7 to put some distance between us and New Orleans.

P.S. Royals up 4-1 in the start of the 7th.

Graystoke 10-07-2024 07:48 PM

Saints have a good defense. Chief fans should be pleased with that half.
Clean up the penalties, keep ball security priority no. 1.
We got this

Because he doesn't want to take a hit in a largely meaningless game that would end his season (and ours)

It’s really strange because it seemed like the game moved in slow motion for him in his first year starting.

And then as his career has gone on it seems like the game has sped up for him.

Not sure why but it’s bizarre.

Yeah, pretty much how I feel... the Saints have been a ****ing mess outside of one play on offense, Mahomes is on pace for a 430 yard game and Hunt a 100 yard game on the ground, and they have zero turnovers.

And 16 points.

It's not freaking out to say if someone saw those stats at halftime, they'd guess the Chiefs had 21+ points, if not 30 by now.... I also think they're comfortably leading unless Carr just goes off in the 2nd half, which I'm not expecting at all to happen.

If that's the case it's curious that he took such a big hit running in the middle of the field earlier.

He definitely is bailing the pocket at times but that's kind of always been his style.

Steele's going to get tagged with a fumble in the stats for that play. I'm not sure that's completely fair, but I guess he should have just tucked the ball when he saw the defender coming.

that was actually one of the better 1st halfs this season, probably the best.

JuJu 5 catches 67 yards. 200 yards for Mahomes, Kelce 8 catches.
