KCKing sent me his pick. In two hours, I'll wave my magic wand and create a new Mud Duck.

doomy3 06-29-2009 06:21 PM

This thing is barely creeping along.

well at least we are almost in the 16th round but it is moving awful slow

Kyle DeLexus 06-29-2009 08:25 PM

Is anyone really good at math? If so can someone give an honest estimate of when this should get done and the rookie draft will start? Not just the 12 hours per pick but has anyone been seeing the average time per round and all that?

By my calculations, it should be October of 2016.

chiefscafan 06-29-2009 09:10 PM

Do we really need to wait on the Kiffins here even though they are already behind on another pick and bdeg sent him a PM on his other site?

Rain Man 06-29-2009 09:55 PM

Okay, Pick 1 occurred on April 3rd. It's now June 29th, and we're almost halfway through the 33 rounds. That means that basically we would complete Round 33 at the end of August at our current pace. That would actually work pretty decently given an opening day of September 10th, except we'll need 2 to 3 weeks to do the rookie draft.

We might be able to squeeze in the rookie draft, but it would be very close. Probably too close.

So how do we accelerate? I have a few suggestions, and let's hear what you think.

1. We start the rookie draft simultanously when we hit Round 26 of the veteran draft.

2. We could lower the time limit to 8 hours starting in Round 17.

3. Once we hit the start of Round 17, we could conceivably do something kind of unique by doing this: odd-numbered rounds draft from the AFC starting with the 1st pick, and even-numbered rounds draft from the NFC going backwards from the 19th pick, and we run them simultaneously. Both tracks have to finish up before we start the next pair of rounds, so we do 17 and 18, and then when they're done we flip conferences and do it again with Rounds 19 and 20.

What do y'all think?

Eh, I think we probably should. If we don't we penalize people whose picks are closer together.

I'm great with any idea that speeds this thing up.

darosa88 06-29-2009 10:49 PM

I like numbers 1 and 2 better, but if everyone votes for option 3 then that's fine too.

Bowser 06-29-2009 11:05 PM

Sorry for the holdup, guys. Here are my picks (and after a quick lookover I didn't see these guys, but correct me if I'm wrong here...)

Donnie Avery - WR

Levi Brown - RT
